Park Shin-hye’s Choi In-ha has Pinocchio Syndrome which makes her break out in hiccups when she lies. Her blunt and no-nonsense character is also a well-rounded one and she portrays her character with determination and a fierceness that one can feel in every scene.
Memories of the Alhambra (2018)

In this action-thriller series, Yoo Jin-woo and Jung Hee-joo get entangled in a mysterious web of lies, deception and shocking incidents surrounding an augmented reality video game. Primarily set in Splain, the series looks absolutely stunning from the first till the last episode and the storyline is so twisted and suspenseful that the romance feels like a breath of fresh air in between! The storyline is structured in such a way that it will make you question everything and you are left to question what lies next. The interesting way in which the storyline progresses makes this drama stand out and create an impact after you finish the series.
The Call (2020)

In this horror-thriller film, Kim Seo-yeon, after moving to her home, comes across an antic phone and meets Oh Yeong-sook. They find out that they both live in the same house but are 20 years apart, with the phone connecting the two of them. Although they strike up a sweet friendship at first, Seo-yeon finds out soon enough that things aren’t all normal with her new friend which soon proves to be disastrous for her.
This mind-bending thriller is a bloody ride that will take you down very dark roads without any mercy. The storyline might be something you have come across previously, but it’s the execution that truly makes an impact in the film. Every moment in the movie is unpredictable and absolutely shocking and will leave you questioning and fearful of the future. It’s an unsettling and anxiety-inducing venture that leaves you feeling unsettled even after the movie ends. There are no happy endings here, but that won’t stop it from being thoroughly engaging!
#Alive (2020)

Zombie lovers, this one is for you! After a virus outbreak takes over Seoul swiftly, two strangers trapped in an apartment complex must find a way to survive in order to stay alive while keeping their wits about them. The storyline is quite generic, with nothing new that will shock you per se but #Alive is an entertaining ride from start to end and will leave you at the edge throughout. There are hints of camaraderie, friendship and something warm and soft amid a hopeless situation and the movie handles both of these things quite well. The movie, although generic, doesn’t let up the thrill making you relate to the characters while doing so.
Sisyphus: The Myth (2021)

Starring Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, the drama showcases a genius engineer and a woman from the future learning dangerous secrets to stop the end of the world as they know it. Although the series polarised viewers during its release, the series has a great production value that will not be lost on anyone. There are thrilling moments in the series that will keep you on the edge and the hints of drama and romance in between the action and sci-fi elements break the monotony and add an emotional quotient to the story. The action portrayed in the series is also great and coupled with power-packed acting from the leads makes for an entertaining watch for most of the runtime.
