What If Season 2 Episode 6 takes us to a time before Odin brought the Tesseract to Earth. In the distant past, the Tesseract found its way to pre-Colombian America. The episode pivots to the Mohawk perspective, where we encounter Kahhori and her brother, Wáhta. The two are set on an adventure.

When they come near a lake, Kahhori reveals to Wáhta that it harbours a potent power for which people once waged deadly battles. Dismissing the ominous tales of the lake consuming lives, they reach the pond. Disappointment quickly turns to urgency when a gunshot shatters the calm, signalling the arrival of a more immediate threat: white men. The two go racing back to their village, and they discover it in flames.

Pursued on horseback, Kahhori and Wáhta stumble into a pit leading to underground caverns. Guided by fate, they reach a grotto with the true source of power—an ethereal lake glowing in Tesseract blue. In a desperate attempt to protect her brother, Kahhori throws rocks at one pursuer, only to be shot and propelled into the luminous lake. Through a mysterious portal, she emerges in a forest resembling her own, yet markedly different. She is welcomed by a young man. Kahhori learns she has entered Sky World.

The Watcher enters What If Season 2 Episode 6 once again, to unveil that the Tesseract granted Space Stone powers to Kahhori’s ancestors’ lake. Awaking in this magical realm, Kahhori witnesses the residents utilizing the infused magic in their daily lives. Atahraks, the young man, explains the her more about the ‘blue light’. But, Kahhori reveals her urgency to return home after her village’s attack. However, the open portal to her world floats high above. Atahraks urges her to embrace their immortal Sky World, but Kahhori remains steadfast in her mission.

Meanwhile, in Kahhori’s village, conquistador Don Rodrigo seeks the Fountain of Youth. Simultaneously, Kahhori attempts to reach the portal by climbing a towering tree, with Atahraks advising her to connect with the world’s spirit. Harnessing Tesseract powers, Kahhori strives to create a staircase but isn’t all that successful.

What If Season 2 Episode 6 Ending Explained

Kahhori embraces the spirit of the land and accidentally excels, using her newfound powers to flip one of the creatures and harvest the fruits when out with Atahraks towards the end of What If Season 2 Episode 6. Meanwhile, in the cavern, conquistadors, except Gonzalo, eager for immortality, plunge into the lake, only to be sucked below.

Blaming the tribe, Gonzalo orders them chained for transport to Spain. Falling into Sky World, the conquistadors decide to ruin the tribe’s celebration. Kahhori intervenes and is driven by anger at seeing Wáhta’s necklace. Furious and determined, she pulls the portal down, urging them to join her in the fight for their people. Once above, she single-handedly takes on conquistadors and their ships. Overwhelmed, she is rescued by Atahraks and the Sky World tribe, reestablishing her connection with the Tesseract to save her people.

Meanwhile, in Spain, Queen Isabella learns of lost conquistador fleets but dismisses caution. Advised against another expedition, Isabella perceives it as her divine right. At this moment, Kahhori arrives at the Spanish court through a portal, suggesting Isabella abandon her pursuits. Confronted by the queen, Kahhori takes matters into her own hands, using magic to levitate the queen from her throne and obliterate it.
