Aakhri Sach is a crime series inspired by Delhi's 2018 Burari Death Case. It is fictionalised for the viewers, with Tamannaah Bhatia playing cop Anya, who is investigating the case.
The crime drama also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Shivin Narang, Danish Iqbal, Nishu Dikshit, Kriti Vij, Sanjeev Chopra and others. The series is available in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali.
So far, Disney+ Hotstar has dropped only 3 episodes. The first two episodes were released on August 25 and opened to mixed response. Directed by Robbie Grewal, the viewers were not happy with just two available episodes.
The third episode dropped on August 31 and again received negative reactions. The Burari Death case shook the nation as 11 family members were found dead by hanging. Sadly, the Hotstar series has made very little progress with its plot.
So far, Cop Anya has ruled out the possibility that the Mahipal gang killed the family. In episode 3, the cops catch Chamatkari Baba, who gives out shocking information about Bhuvan Rajawat's (played by Abhishek) behaviour.
Considering what happened to the Buraris, we can expect the cops to figure out that it can be a case of superstitious beliefs that cost so many lives. Now that they have such crucial information about Bhuvan, we hope Anya investigates more about his past and actions in the past.
Aakhri Sach Episode 4 will release at midnight on September 8, 2023.
The series will have a total number of 6 episodes. The first three episodes are currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
