Artists Who Parted Ways With Scooter Braun

The American music scene has taken a drastic turn, marking the exodus of many high-profile artists from under Scooter Braun’s management, his record label SB Projects. The previous elite roster has now met with big departures. Let’s take a look!

Despite the many illustrious names the entrepreneur has managed over the years, he’s possibly most remembered for his public feud with Taylor Swift after he bought the masters of her first six albums, while she wasn’t offered the same opportunity to own her music. Swift has since then re-recorded her premier albums and voiced out her side of the story in songs like ‘Vigilante Shit’, ‘My Tears Ricochet’ and ‘Karma’, as noted by her fans. She cut ties with him in 2019.

Though often referred to as Braun’s “Prodigal Son” who hopped on this journey with the manager in 2008 when he he was 13 years old, it looks like Bieber may not be returning to work under the American entrepreneur’s management. Although these talks are still flourishing as mere rumours, official sources have claimed that the two haven’t been on talking terms for months.

Billboard has reported that Lovato actually quit her/their spot at SB Projects last month. It was claimed to be an “amicable” exit. They'd been signed with Scooter since 2019.

Having signed with SB Projects in 2013, Grande has also departed from the agency. Details for the same haven't been stated from her side yet.

Balvin was one of the first huge names in this list to have kickstarted the move away from Scooter and his agency back in May 2023. He’s now represented by Jay-Z’s entertainment label, Roc Nation Management.

In the latest development of this seismic shift, the ‘Frozen’ star Idina Menzel is yet another artist to have cut ties with Braun.

Some claims point towards his receding direct involvement with the artists’ work, especially since he also became the sole CEO of HYBE America, the US division of the stellar K-pop conglomerate managing BTS, NewJeans and others this year. However, the real reasons for Scooter’s Empire falling apart haven’t come to the surface yet. Swifites are also looking back at the possibility of his “white-collar crimes” (as sung about in Taylor’s song 'Vigilante Shit’) catching up to him.

Why are These Stars Splitting Ways With the Talent Manager?

Carly Rae Jepsen, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, Quavo of Migos, Tori Kelly, Dan+ Shay, Ava Max and others are still part of the SB Projects roster.
