8 Korean Actors We Wish To See in Action Movie

The enthralling nature of fearless action films has barely been met through any other genre. Sundry K-dramas already carry a sense of thrill and mystery with them. Still, the blood-boiling explosive image of courage displayed by action heroes remains untouched, bringing us to the thoughts of a dream cast that could lead such a project with high-octane formidability.

The Good Bad Mother actor is a diverse artist expressing his characters’ emotions, particularly their pathos. While he’s largely delved into the drama genre and is yet to make his feature film debut if he were to lead an action movie, his Sweet Home creds are likely to come through and prove him to be a strong contender in this list.

Lee Do-hyun

Thrillers are no news to her, especially owing to her major contribution to series like My Name and the upcoming Gyeongseong Creature. She’s already established her image as a daunting badass in the Korean industry. Stepping up to play the same in a movie won’t trouble her.

Han So-hee

The INFINITE singer is a surprise all-in-one deal. Although he’s mostly come up in feel-good dramas, his latest workplace revenge series, Numbers, breaks his previously moulded image, allowing him to sink into a graver tone of filmography, an appreciable feat for a dream future action movie casting.

L aka Kim Myung-soo

Many viewers have majorly come to associate her with her Business Proposal role. However, we can’t just forget her gritty avatar of Do Ha-na in The Uncanny Counter, which in itself is enough to justify the possibility of her starring in a future action film.

Kim Se-jeong

If anything, his latest feature in the Tale of the Nine-Tailed series has only proved his glorious worth as a grounded actor capable of making anything possible. If he can make an initially introduced antagonistic grey character a loveable and adored mess, he can do anything. And though he’s already starred in action movies, none among the lot has been a recent release.

Kim Bum

Every character played by her so far has been like a mind-boggling pick in a surprise box full of chocolates - all different. If anyone can pull this off with astounding finesse, it’s her. Her goosebumps-worthy performance in The Glory is a further testament to the argument that it’s about time that she led an action flick all by herself.

Song Hye-kyo

Yes, he’s previously led the 2017 neo-noir action film Real as a crime boss, but that’s not enough for us anymore; rather, it only further adds to why we need his action hero comeback ASAP. His suave and smooth mannerisms make for a big hit combo that defines his acting style, and we can never have enough of that in our lives.

Kim Soo-hyun

The Parasite actor appeared in the spy action film Phantom, released earlier this year, but that didn’t catch her directly engrossed in physical altercations as much as we’d like to see her immersed. Only if her subtly uncanny character from Parasite were to be embroiled in hard-hitting action sequences, that would be a dream come true.
