TV or Web shows give us a lot of reasons to feel good about. Some make you laugh with the plot, some make you fall in love with the actors and the characters they play, and some become our companions during our good or bad times.
While we all have favourite characters, there are some who end up becoming our comfort characters. They feel like someone we would want to have in our lives. We have listed several fictional people from shows that we think are the perfect comfort characters we would like to befriend.
Played by Noah Reid, Patrick Brewer brings much-needed peace and hope to David Rose’s life (played by Dan Levy). He is kind but also firm when it comes to his self-respect. His honesty and understanding nature really make us wish we had someone like him in our lives as a friend or as a partner.
Matthew Perry, as Chandler Bing, is one of the best-written fictional characters in a sitcom. From being a chaotic mess to one of the greenest flags as a husband or partner, Chandler’s growth is commendable. If we have someone like him in our lives, we know that we will never have a day without laughing our lungs out. He’s tender, sweet, a bit possessive, and a great friend.
Phil Dunphy’s naivety and absurdity are often used to stimulate humour in the show. But let’s be real: he’s an amazing husband, a caring father, and a considerate human being. He doesn’t give up on others around him, even if they don’t always give him the same energy in return. As played by Ty Burrell, life would always be an unpredictable adventure if we had Phil Dunphy as our friend.
Played by Hailee Steinfeld, this Marvel superhero is quite relatable. She has an odd relationship with her parent, has a secret life, and loves crazy adventures. Also, she’s a dog lover. Kate Bishop seems like someone who would come running to us if we told her that we weren't feeling okay. She gives sweet and caring vibes, and in today’s time, who doesn’t want that?
Joe Keery became everyone’s favourite with his portrayal of Steve Harrington as a cutie. He gives such warm vibes, always looking out for others. He’s a true friend, willing to do anything to save the ones he cares about. Can you believe this character started off as a bully on the show? It won’t be wrong to say that every Stranger Things fan wants someone like Steve in their life.
