Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 7 Review: Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 7 was funny and surprising. If you want to know the detailed review read ahead.
Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 7 Overview
Urusei Yatsura returns to breathe new life into the “boy meets extraordinary girl” genre. This anime masterpiece combines elements of comedy, romance, and sci-fi, enriched with a generous dose of humorous gags.

Once again, the series boasts a talented trio of directors at its helm. Among them is Takahashi Hideya, renowned for his contributions to Sword Art Online, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, To LOVE-Ru, and more. The other directors include Kamei Takahiro, known for his work on Enen no Shouboutai, Captain Tsubasa (2018), and others, as well as Kimura Yasuhiro, who lent his expertise to Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
Episode 7 of Urusei Yatsura 2nd Season can also be called the 7th episode of うる星やつら第2期.
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Urusei Yatsura Season 2 Episode 7 Review and Recap – An Unexpected Bodyswap

Today’s episode again was divided into two parts, and we saw 2 separate stories that do not have any relation between them. The first episode deals with Ataru and Ten going on their daily escapades. Oddly enough, they come across a suspicious person selling some earmuffs. As these earmuffs were pretty cheap, Ataru haggles him to buy two at a very minimum cost. But shortly after wearing these, both Ataru and Ten swap bodies amongst themselves, and that is when all hell breaks loose.
This part was really funny as you get to see Ataru being an absolute creep and that too, in the body of our beloved Ten and Ten being horrified about Ataru’s actions while trapped in Ataru’s body. We also see Lum, who has a pretty hard time dealing with the situation as even she can’t believe her precious Ten Chan is doing things that he is doing. I had a few laughs seeing Ataru going around doing whatever he wanted no one saying anything because well he is a sweet innocent child.
The next part was very unexpected, as this time, we traveled to another dimension. While going to school, both Lum and Ataru become late, and to counter the situation, Lum opens a portal to transport themselves to get to their destination. But what she did not know was that they traveled 10 years into the future, where they witnessed things they never expected.

This section was really interesting, as even I was surprised to see a future that I did not anticipate would happen. I can only imagine how Lum must have felt to see such an unexpected result. And the cherry on top was that we got to witness the child of Ataru. But who could have been the mother? Again, this segment was pretty interesting as it gave us a nice surprise factor.
Verdict
This episode why was quite entertaining, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It is very difficult to make standalone episodes interesting, but this anime does it really well. Each segment has a different and unique storyline, hence, you never get bored of it. But I do understand how many might not appreciate this kind of comedy and might not feel this to be their cup of tea, which is again completely fine.
Hopefully, we will see more such episodes in the future from this show.
