Trolley episode 6 starts with Joong-do attending a seminar against digital sex crimes, and afterwards, he calls Ki-young out of the blue to arrange a dinner plan with him. As it turns out, the meeting from the last episode wasn’t pre-planned by Seung-hee. Rather, it was a chance encounter between the two couples.

Either way, dinner is rather awkward for everyone concerned, and it doesn’t help that Seung-hee is constantly passive-aggressive against Hye-joo. It’s a tense moment during the ordeal, and afterwards, Seung-hee whisks Hye-joo away to the bathroom to have a one-on-one chat with her finally.

And because Seung-hee is a gross human being, she shames her and asks her how it is possible that after what Hye-joo claims that she went through at Seung-ho’s hands, she got married so soon afterwards? Since she thinks that it would take her a decade to get over something like that, she wonders how she could move on so quickly.

Anyway, she finds it unfair that her own family was destroyed, but Hye-joo gets to have a good life, and thus, to make it fair, she wants her to apologise to her mother for framing Seung-ho for tuition money. She threatens to leak her secrets on the internet, and especially with the elections coming up, things might get rather difficult for her.

Hye-joo tries to beg her for leniency, but she doesn’t listen to her and asks her to return to Youngsan and ask her mother for forgiveness. Outside, Joong-do asks Ki-young not to get Hye-joo into work matters and the latter promises to keep things between the two of them.

After the two of them leave, Ki-young asks what the deal is between Seung-hee and Hye-joo. She finally tells her husband her plan, but he is sceptical and asks her whether she is sure that Hye-joo framed her brother. Seung-hee is sure about it and tells him that Seung-ho had told her the truth the night he took his own life.

As it turns out, her mother is a vile woman who lied through her teeth to Seung-hee and blamed it all on Hye-joo.

Anyway, Hye-joo and Joong-do have a heart-to-heart at home about what they would do with the med student if they could go back in time, and he asks her whether she regrets marrying a politician. Hye-joo does, but out loud, she says that she doesn’t regret loving him and so that should be enough.

The next morning, Joong-do comes face-to-face with Soo-bin and asks her whether she can take responsibility for the baby, and she shoots back that he’s the one to talk to. It’s a rather cold and tense exchange that really doesn’t get any answers but poses two questions!

As Joong-do and Hye-joo plan on going on a vacation after the election, an annoyed Soo-bin tries to remove the JD tattoo on her torso with a marker. All that, however, has to wait – Joong-do has several flyers strewn all around his car by none other than Seung-kyu’s father, saying that he is a murderer.

A frantic Hye-joo cleans up the mess and is left further shaken when Seung-hee orders her to come to Youngsan at 3.30. Meanwhile, Joong-do asks Woo-jae to dig into Hye-joo’s past, considering she looked oddly uncomfortable around Seung-hee but at ease when it came to Ki-young. He mentions that this whole background check is for him as a husband and not as an assemblywoman.

Meanwhile, as Hye-joo goes to work, Soo-bin goes to a clinic to learn about and possibly get an abortion.

Later on, as Woo-jae gets Hye-joo’s pictures doctored, Gwi-soon learns that her granddaughter’s revenge porn video was, in fact, uploaded at the end of the day. She immediately calls Hye-joo, who is left heartbroken when she learns about it as well. She calls Woo-jae, who shares that the police and Joong-do himself are trying to remove the video from the internet.

As she tries to deliver the news to Gwi-soon, Woo-jae goes to Hye-joo’s orphanage with the doctored photos and asks her about her past, claiming that he’s about to marry her! As the nun starts to tell him everything, Hye-joo travels to Youngsan to meet Seung-hee.

At her house, she continues to threaten her and makes her feel bad for her family’s condition when suddenly, there is a crash outside the house – it’s Joong-do, and he insists on meeting Seung-hee, and he doesn’t look happy.

Well, another episode that just makes everything more confusing. But I have a feeling that Hye-joo isn’t lying about her past, and she was assaulted. And I know that, regardless of what is in her past, Joong-do will support his wife. With a twist this heartbreaking, Joong-do is too good not to support his wife.

That being said, what is this odd tension between him and Soo-bin? This has something to do with the baby, and I might even consider that they had an affair. But… considering how Joong-do is so loyal and everything, it just feels a bit too out there. But who knows? Maybe everyone is just too good at keeping secrets.

Trolley is streaming on Netflix.
