The Great Indian Family: Vicky Kaushal-Manushi Chhillar’s Family Drama Gets a Release Date

Today, Yash Raj Films’ dropped the first promo and announced The Great Indian Family release date. TGIF stars Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar in the leading roles. It is the second release of 2023 for YRF after the blockbuster Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The upcoming family drama is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya.

In the video, Vicky tells us what “family” means. He compares a family to a melodious classical Indian song. He says how it feels good to say that family is nice, but his family is full of snakes. The promo teases Vicky’s struggle to deal with his family. But what exactly is the issue? Well, we will find out only when the trailer is out.

The video doesn’t feature Manushi Chhillar. TGIF will be the Former Miss World’s second movie and second film with YRF. She was seen in Samrat Prithviraj last year, which also starred Akshay Kumar. The secrecy of her role has definitely created excitement to know more.

The makers also dropped a poster that features the entire cast – Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, and Srishti Dixit. The film is set to release on September 22, 2023.

Meanwhile, TGIF will be the second theatrical release for Vicky. The actor was last seen in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, which also starred Sara Ali Khan. Directed by Laxman Utekar, ZHZB was also a family drama with romance and comedy. The film was a box office hit and received good reviews from the audience and mixed reviews from critics.

Along with TGIF, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur biopic. The film will release in theatres on December 1, 2023.
