SEVENTEEN’s Super 5th Win on SBS’ Inkigayo is a cause for major celebration in CARAT-land as the 13-member group has finally landed its first grand slam of the year. Serving as the first title track on their 10th mini album FML, Super stands by its name and has allowed for sublime performances from the boy group. The comeback is officially a success on all levels, securing several music wins over the week.

For those unfamiliar with K-pop terminology, a ‘Grand Slam’ in this industry refers to a music act winning all major music programs in a week. So far, S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino have returned victorious on MBC’s Show Champion (Wednesday), Mnet‘s M Countdown (Thursday), KBS2’s Music Bank (Friday), MBC’s Show! Music Core (Saturday) and, now, the weekly Sunday broadcast on Inkigayo, marking their five consecutive wins in a week.
For today’s music championship, they were up against BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Flower and IVE’s I Am, but ultimately took the first spot with 7884 points, including their physical album sales, live voting by the fans, digital streams and other criteria. Jisoo garnered 5599 points while IVE secured 6653 points at the broadcast hosted by MONSTA X’s Hyungwon and actress Kim Ji-eun, who was last seen in the K-drama One Dollar Lawyer with Namkoong Min.
Changing the pace of their promotions on the Inkigayo stage, the 13 members performed their soft-toned second title track of the album, F*ck My Life, instead of their grand-scale extravaganza as previously unleashed through their Super stages. CARATs, aka the group’s fans, also noted that this marked the band’s overall 58th music show win and started trending the following hashtags on Twitter – ‘세븐틴인기가요_1위축하해’ ‘SUPER5thWin’ ‘SEVENTEEN58thWin’. The members even addressed the victory on their Weverse live after the music show broadcast and thanked their fans for their constant support.
Today’s broadcast also saw the following performances – BTOB’s Wind and Wish, NCT DOJAEJUNG’s Wish, Le Sserafim’s Unforgiven and No Return, EPEX’s Sunshower, Xdinary Heroes’ Freakin Bad and xikers’ Rockstar.
