Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 14 depicts our protagonists being back on the road. Let’s see how the 14th episode went.
Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 13 Recap
This episode explores the aftermath of Lawrence’s failed armour business. Now debt-free, Lawrence finds some time for leisure, drinking and chatting with Holo and the shepherd girl, Nora. While Lawrence and Nora enjoy light conversation, Holo, who dislikes Nora, feels unwell and is visibly displeased. Holo soon loses consciousness and later wakes up in bed, lamenting her vulnerability in front of Lawrence and feeling jealous of his connection with Nora.

However, Holo’s worries dissipate when she sees how attentively Lawrence takes care of her. He even studies various books in a panic to ensure he can help her recover properly. Holo is touched by his concern, especially when Lawrence unknowingly performs a gesture that holds intimate significance in the werewolf community.
Throughout the episode, Holo reminisces about her past life in the village where she was revered as a god. She reflects on the loneliness she felt despite her dedication to protecting the villagers. Although she never asked for this responsibility, she accepted it and stayed to ensure the village’s safety. Now, while travelling with Lawrence, she is rediscovering herself and finding happiness again.
Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 13 Review and Recap

We are in a new direction in Spice and Wolf, where Holo and Laurence are continuing their adventures in a different city. This time, they are moving towards Kumerson, a place where both orthodox believers and pagans reside. Here, Holo will not have any problem, but still, Lawrence provides her with something that is even more useful for concealing her identity as a werewolf.
He gives her 3 feathers that she can use on her head to specify that she is a nun but will not perform any sort of missionary activities. Not just that, but Lawrence further explains that this new town is in the middle of opening a huge market as their festival is about to start, called Ladra. It attracts a huge number of people who come to have all sorts of goods and food. There’s a high chance that Lawrence is here to do business specifically because of this gathering.

On their trip, Lawrence and Holo also playfully argue about their relationship dynamic, but even after Lawrence denies his feelings, you know that he is interested in Holo. And Holo is definitely very much affectionate towards Lawrence, as we have seen from her actions time and time again.
Along their way, they also meet a new character, Amati, who is also a young but proficient trader. He helps Lawrence and Holo out by arranging a place for them to stay. On top of that, he develops a slight crush on Holo, who acts all demure and ladylike in front of Amati. But Lawrence is not just to have fun here, and he quickly gets down to business within the town.
In this episode, we also get more information about the place where Holo is from. Though she is not entirely sure about the direction, she and her partner try to figure the location out themselves.

Verdict
This episode was mostly a normal one, and I liked it because, after all the intense interactions in the past few episodes, it was nice to get some respite. The relationship is developing nicely between the protagonists, and they are more aware of each other than ever before. I am sure in this town as well, we will see more of their adventures.
