Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 11 Recap

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 12 Review Do Not Mess With Holo

In the last episode of Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets The Wise Wolf, our protagonists, Lawrence and Holo, embark on a perilous mission to the city of Lamtra. Accompanied by Nora and Marten from the Remerio Trading Company, they aim to smuggle gold within Ruvenheigen. However, this dangerous endeavour could make them enemies of the church. If Holo’s true identity as a werewolf is discovered, she faces immediate execution, and Lawrence would be implicated in aiding her.

Despite the risks, everyone pins their hopes on this mission. Nora seeks freedom from the church’s grasp, and Lawrence hopes for financial gain. As they travel, the gold acquisition goes smoothly, but the weather takes a turn for the worse. Relentless rain and a pack of wolves add to their troubles, leaving us wondering how Lawrence will navigate this treacherous situation.

The episode keeps us on edge, with unexpected twists and escalating problems. Lawrence’s luck seems to be running out, and the stakes have never been higher.

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 12 Review and Recap

Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Episode 12 Review Do Not Mess With Holo

Lawrence is in bad shape, and he is desperately trying to get out of his binds and save the people close to him. He finally manages to burn the rope around his wrists from the nearby wood fire, but there is still much to do. Thankfully, he is joined by Holo, who is not at all in a cheerful mood because of what she has to do to ensure the safety of others.

Holo is a senior and wise wolf who has been alive for a very long time. This is why she must be respected in the werewolf world, and she also carries a lot of pride in herself. However, she had to bow down to the newly born werewolf who chased Lawrence and his party so that she could get out of this whole mess without creating a ruckus. This sort of situation is downright disrespectful to her, and she openly expresses it in front of Lawrence, who himself is in a dire position.

Perhaps this is why, Holo decides to take care of their enemies even when she hates the idea of saving Nora, the shepherd. The way she charges towards the betrayers with Laurence on her back is terrifying but also proves her power. She is not to be messed with, and Lawrence is very lucky that she is on her side.

The ending, however, was very unexpected, and I did not think that Lawrence would come up with such an idea to save himself. The way he conducted the deal also solidifies his merit and proves his affinity towards businesses. This does not mean that we were devoid of romance, as we get plenty of hints that Holo likes Lawrence. But like many male protagonists, Lawrence is also very dense about the matters of the heart.

Verdict

I love this episode a lot and I’m grateful that the protagonists are finally happy and out of their bad situation. They’re going to be on another journey in the next episode, and I cannot wait to witness more of their adventures. Watch new episodes on Netflix.
