This episode was a heartbreaking one, as Lawrence and Holo find themselves in yet another difficult situation. Lawrence arrives in a new town with high hopes for his latest business venture, planning to sell a valuable set of armor for a substantial profit. His excitement, however, leads him to overlook some crucial details.

The armor he purchased was financed with a loan, meaning he needs to make a significant profit to repay his debt. Unfortunately, when he attempts to sell the armor, he makes a shocking discovery: he has been deceived. The armor is worthless, and the information he relied on was false. Lawrence now finds himself in serious trouble, with less than three days to repay his loan.

Despite being a skilled merchant, Lawrence is not immune to mistakes. His confidence in his loan-based business strategy led him to ignore Holo’s warning about the risks of debt. Business is inherently risky, and this time, Lawrence faces a harsh defeat instead of success.

By the episode’s end, Lawrence is visibly distraught, shocked by the betrayal, and desperate for a miracle. His usual optimism is draining away, replaced by a sense of desperation.

At the beginning of the episode, things look grim, as Lawrence is seen humiliated when someone throws some coins at him and threatens to pay them back as soon as possible.

Lawrence, being in an impossible situation, still collects the coins and goes his way without saying anything. Later, we see him approaching Holo with the money he collected. He wants her to keep the money with her and try his luck with gambling. Thankfully, Holo finally snaps at his miserable and pitiful self and opens up about what she has to say in the matter.

We all know that previously, Holo also made some mistakes as she forcefully came along with Lawrence, which made him unable to get funds. But Laurence also behaved mannerlessly with Holo and brushed her hands off rudely when she tried to console him. As both of them are mature adults, they agree to their mistakes and ask for forgiveness properly. This showcases just how much their relationship has grown and developed. Not only that, but I also sensed a potential romantic connection between these two as we see Holo desperately asking why Lawrence is so understanding of her actions and being disappointed when he gives an unromantic answer.

She goes as far as scolding him for not playing along with her and even makes him say the answer she wants to hear. But this romantic moment gets interrupted when Holo discloses the perfect plan that can get them out of their issue at hand. It is a very dangerous act and can potentially make them an enemy of the church for life, but if they manage to pull it off, they can return to their normal lives.

However, that plan will need another key member and that is Nora, the talented but misunderstood shepherd. Holo is banking on the fact that she has feelings of betrayal towards the church, which treats her like a heretic even after she works for them. Hence, to get back at them, there is a high chance she can go against them, as money is involved. Now, whether she agrees to this plan or not, is something that you will have to see for yourself.

Verdict

I love this episode as we see considerable growth in our couple’s relationship and see them sort things out. Plus, Holo came up with a very ingenious idea that is both plausible and dangerous, so seeing that come to fruition will be an exciting experience.
