Special Ops 2 Review
The charm of Special Ops lies in its storytelling. The overall storyline might be simple if you think about it, but the way it’s told leaves you hooked from start to end. The series opens up layer by layer, bringing forth a high-octane story that goes deeper the more you watch it. In the midst of the mystery is Kay Kay Menon, who makes us addicted to the series even more. His calm and collected authoritative nature is what differentiates him from others and makes the series more watchable.
However, it’s not just that he’s the authoritative head of an operation that makes him watchable. It’s also the sparks of paternal love that shine through and turn him into a warm character with various facets. Menon does a great job of balancing these various emotions and makes you want to watch what happens next.

Of course, a show is nothing without its story, and Special Ops 2 has a solid one that twists and turns at every turn! There are two different stories in the series that seemingly are unrelated, but, of course, nothing is truly unrelated in shows like these. For once, that’s not the bad part of the show. In fact, it adds more intensity and thrill to an already arresting series. The way the series develops, it constantly keeps you guessing, and the fantastic performances just add to the thrill.
The central plot of the series, surrounding Sudheer Awasthi and Subramanyam, is done extremely well, and viewers will find themselves thoroughly entertained throughout. The plot highlights the corruption within the Indian law enforcement, and we are left questioning who could be feeding information to Sudheer. The information is kept in a limbo till the very end, and we are left to question everyone till then. The tension is palpable in every scene, and I found myself thoroughly invested throughout.

However, I will mention here that Tahir Raj Bhasin’s Sudheer Awasthi is hardly there in the series and somehow doesn’t feel very scary. We hardly see him, and his threat feels… not there. That being said, the thought of a cyber attack taking down nations is shocking and scary, regardless of how you put it, and that’s scary in and of itself. The series does a good job of bringing that to the screen, and Menon is enough to drill that fear into our heads!
Final Thoughts
Special Ops 2 is another fantastic season that is thoroughly engaging and entertaining. Although we don’t feel enough of a threat from Bhasin’s Sudheer Awasthi, the overall pacing and storytelling are very entertaining, and you will find yourself hooked till the end!
