Red Velvet’s Birthday music video is currently the buzz of the ReVeLuv (the group’s fandom name) town after its release on the SMTOWN YouTube channel on November 28, 2022. The mini album titled The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday is the follow-up EP release to the previous first instalment The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm, marking their second album release this year.
Featuring a total of five songs with Birthday as the title song, the album has four B-sides on its tracklist – BYE BYE, On A Ride, ZOOM and Celebrate. The titular music video lured the group’s fanbase back to realising that its favourites are the best at their game. A maze full of trippy and colourful delights is just as enticing as each group member’s charm in the video.
The fans instantly made it a task to promote their beloved artists on Twitter after watching the same and initiated a train of appreciation tweets for the group, its members (Irene, Joy, Yeri, Seulgi and Wendy), the song, lyrics, and the overall video visual appeal of the video and its concept. Some even aggressively declared it to be the ‘Song of the Year’, while others couldn’t hold back their enthusiasm and called the group members ‘Concept Queen’.
Yeri’s hairstyle and make-up choice also became a raging issue among ReVeLuvs, who just couldn’t bring themselves to articulate about her beauty with perfection. Referring to specific time-stamps, others reflected on their favourite moments of the video and highlighted the sky high vocals of the singers.
One of the Twitter users even drew a parallel between the visuals of the music video and moments from the award-winning Kdrama Squid Games by capturing snaps from the video and putting them opposite the scenes taken from the Korean series. The recently released MV was an adorable blockbuster, and the fans didn’t forget to thank the artists for all the efforts put into this comeback. Leaving messages for their good heath, they reminded the quintet to look after their health and rest well during the promotions, so as to not get sick or hurt themselves.
