Pro Bono Episode 7 Recap

Gi-ppeum finally cracks how David became delirious on that day he was scammed. She reminds him how, under anaesthesia, he acts absolutely weird. He has a level of consciousness, but at the same time, he doesn’t remember how he operated once he wakes up. That is exactly how he behaved in his medical examinations, and also when the video of him taking a bribe was taken. Thus, she establishes that he became a part of a huge conspiracy, and Gi-ppeum starts to believe in his innocence again.
On the other hand, Jung-in gets told by her father to close the pro bono team as it is not making any money. Ever since David joined the firm, the pro bono cases have increased by a huge margin. If they do not look after all these cases, their name will be tarnished, which is why they must close the pro bono team to reduce the number of cases. They even send out a termination notice to the pro bono team, and David goes to the head to bargain with him.

There, David comes up with a proposition that his team will handle any case and win it to prove their worth. If they fail, they will leave the company without causing a ruckus. Jung-in’s father agrees because he also likes to gamble, and that is how the pro bono team gets a fairly famous client.
They get to fight for Elijah, a very famous K-pop celebrity who has recently gone solo. She got sued by the parents of a couple of fangirls who disturbed her, and she reacted violently towards them. Elijah’s mother is scared that if the video goes out, her brand deals and image will be tarnished, and they want to stop it from happening. At first, they heavily doubt the pro bono team, and David’s lawyers also take it as a challenge to prove they can win a case like this.

At the team dinner, David also discloses his secret of being framed to the pro bono team. This surprisingly goes very well, and they consider him to be innocent until proven guilty. Later, the pro bono team goes to bid for Elijah’s case, and many revelations come to the surface. First of all, the pro bono team finds out that the video has already been leaked online. Apart from that, Elijah also confesses that she was coming out of her boyfriend’s apartment. Not only that, it gets established that Nan-hee already knew Elijah because she has been her biggest fan.
The trial happens, and there it becomes very clear how one particular YouTuber wanted to defame Elijah. She not only made malicious videos about her but also commented on her own video out of jealousy. The pro bono team exposes this, and Elijah herself comes to address her own side in the court. However, the case has not been closed because the whole thing blows up in a very different way in the end.
Pro Bono Episode 7 Review

I liked today’s episode as it showcased a case that was quite different from what we see all the time. It was good to see that David has great teammates who believe in him. It also seems like David has been assimilating with his pro bono lawyers much better than before.
