Pro Bono Episode 11 Recap

This episode opens at the trial, where David undergoes questioning. Here, Gi-ppeum asks David whether he used his influence for the past ruling, and he claims that he had a desire to enact revenge. However, he denies influencing the proceedings because, apparently, he felt bad for Jae-bum’s mother. It almost feels as if David was confessing about his feelings after a long time, and the pro bono team realises that they are truly seeing David for who he is. For obvious reasons, Jun-woo did not appreciate it at all; the rest of the pro bono team were, to some extent, relieved to hear this confession.

Gi-ppeum goes to Jae-bum and claims that she will not be taking his case anymore. But he just tells her to find the truth, as he does not care about anything other than knowing the absolute truth. Thankfully, the pro bono team, after fighting internally, goes to the guy’s place, who died in the fire all those years ago. There, they get to know how Jae-bum’s father was truly a monstrous boss who treated his employees very poorly and did not pay proper wages. The pro bono team gets substantial evidence that Jae-bum’s father was indeed a terrible man, and from then on, they start investigating properly.

Finally, the day of the main trial comes, and the pro bono team presents everything they could find in front of the judge. They also question a suspect who finally confesses to the wrongdoings of Jae-bum’s father, and the suspicion on David gets lifted. Later, the pro bono team and David go for dinner, and there they talk about the trial. Here, it also becomes clear that Jun-woo might get fired because he fed the wrong information to the higher-ups he was working for. After this, David goes to meet Jung-in, and there they talk.

At this meeting, David confronts Jung-in by telling her how he knows Jung-suk went to her father the moment David pressed him. It becomes clear that Jung-in knows more than she lets on about David’s case, something she never mentioned to David once. At Oh’s office, Oh decides to use Myung-hoon to take down David once and for all. This time, David gets a lawsuit on his head with a claim of 1 billion won. On top of that, the pro bono team also got kicked out of their original office.

The pro bono team takes this case, but the situation is completely different here. The one who is suing David is none other than Yeong-sil’s biological father. This time, Yeong-sil also wants to fight against his father because of how bad that man is. Thus, when the trial happens, rather than David, the case gets taken forward by Yeong-sil himself. At first, it becomes extremely difficult for him to continue with the trial as past trauma resurfaces, but he pushes forward.

I absolutely loved today’s episode, especially how it ended. Since this is the second-to-last episode, it really feels like everything is finally coming to a proper conclusion. We might finally get to see all the people who dragged David down face some real consequences.
