Phantom Lawyer Episode 6 Recap
Yi-rang claims to the police that he was an attorney for Sang-ho, who contacted him before he died. Now, this was not at all believed by the police officer who apprehended him. Later, Yi-rang gets released from the police station when they deduce that he just found the body and was not the one who murdered Sang-ho.
He was then approached by his mother, who took him straight to his office and decided to completely rip the talismans apart. Yi-rang stops her and tells her how he really wants to help the ghosts out. He also takes the blame on himself, claiming that he should have said the truth to Sang-ho from the very beginning. It was his fault that Sang-ho lost his composure and took the drastic measure of possessing him and attacking his father-in-law. Sang-ho also comes to meet Yi-rang and tells him that he wants to meet his wife. However, Yi-rang stops him and tells him that in his place, he will meet her.

In the meeting, Sang-ho still comes in and sees his wife crying. This makes him possess Yi-rang, and they chat about the murder. It becomes clear that Sang-ho’s father-in-law did not kill him, and there is something really wrong with his wife. She loves him, but at the same time, she is obsessed with her mother’s condition. After that, we see Na-hyeon approaching Yi-rang in hopes of manipulating him and gaining information from him. However, Yi-rang shows her his genuine side, where he lets her know that he was really hurt by her comments before.
Yi-rang makes Sang-ho meet Na-hyeon, who genuinely believes that Yi-rang is lying and pretends to make him believe that she trusts him. Here, we get some very important information that Hyo-jung, who told Na-hyeon about Sang-ho, used to have a crush on his wife. Na-hyeon also points out that he gave a lot more information about the case, which she did not even ask for. He also tried to push the blame onto others and make an alibi for himself. More discussion between Yi-rang and Na-hyeon pointed towards Hyo-jung being the actual culprit who clearly murdered Sang-ho.

After learning this, Yi-rang comes up with a plan to make Hyo-jung confess to his crime. He creates an entire scenario where he would scare him into accepting that he’s the one who murdered Sang-ho. The plan did not go as smoothly as he would have liked, but Yi-rang gets saved by Na-hyeon in the end. Later, something unexpected happens where Sang-ho possesses Yi-rang and actually manages to find a cure for his mother-in-law. Then, Yi-rang helps Sang-ho to pass on without any regrets.
Phantom Lawyer Episode 6 Review

You can truly enjoy this series if you’re willing to embrace a bit of suspension of disbelief. It’s not something you need to overthink. The best way is to just sit back and enjoy the humour and its charming characters.
I’m especially curious to see what kind of ghost shows up next.
