Nikhoj Announcement Teaser: Swastika Mukherjee Shuns All Objectivity, Pushes For the Truth

Hoichoi has been building its roster with the best Bengali content it can offer, and with the Nikhoj announcement teaser, they add yet another feather to their cap. This streaming platform is filled with Bengali films and television shows and is specifically made for that language and culture to be represented. This kind of niche platform has allowed people of this culture and others who are looking to learn it an opportunity to get a closer look at their daily life.

Nikhoj is directed by Ayan Chakraborti and stars Swastika Mukherjee as Brinda Bose, Tota Roy Choudhury as Romit Sen, Mahendra Soni, Paran Bandopadhyay, Koneenica Banerjee and other cast members. It is a story about a woman trying to find her daughter after she goes missing and doesn’t come home one night. This woman, being the Deputy Commissioner of Police, also has a responsibility towards other cases and people. This case is too close to her heart and manages to cloud her objectivity amidst this difficult time.

Nikhoj Announcement Teaser: Still 1
A still from the teaser

She suspects one person, a journalist named Romit Sen, over whom she has incredible doubts. Calling him to the police station, she is the one heading this investigation and the interrogation, making sure that everything goes as she wants without any hiccups. The announcement teaser doesn’t show much of the other characters. It is filled with a monologue that describes the premise of the plot clearly enough for audiences to build some kind of anticipation to know what happens next.

So far, it is a pretty normal story involving a terrified yet determined mother and a suspect she has caught based on a certain kind of evidence she has procured. However, instead of this being a step-by-step process of gathering clues, it seems that the main character already has a direction for her case. She needs the undefeatable element that will bring back her daughter from wherever she has gone. To see what kind of show this is going to be, check out the teaser below. While there may not be much to infer visually, it will be tense and dramatic for sure.
