Mercy For None Ending Explained
The series opens with Gi-jun, a prolific fighter, leaving the gangster life behind after his brother, Gi-seok, decides to join his rival gang. He cuts off his Achilles tendon and lives a sedentary life since then, keeping the promise that he had made all those years ago. However, 15 years later, Gi-seok is on the cusp of being promoted to manage his gang, and making enemies along the way. One night, after meeting Gi-jun after years, he is murdered by a gang of criminals.
In the aftermath, Gi-jun returns from the dead and starts questioning everything and everyone. He questions the man who was arrested for the crime, and from there, it’s one bloody battle after another until he gets to the bottom of the crime. Elsewhere, Goo Bong-san asks Cha Yeong-do to look into the murder and find out whether there’s something more behind Gi-seok’s death.
Gi-jun learns about the Graveyard, a service that connects people who don’t want to get into trouble for whatever crime they have committed with those who are willing to take the fall for the right price. From there, he meets Sim Seong-won, the head of the Graveyard, who is immediately scared when he hears that Gi-jun is visiting his office.

Who Had Killed Gi-seok?
Seong-won spills the truth to Gi-jun – Gu Jun-mo, Gu Bong-san’s son, was the one who ordered the hit on Gi-seok. The news spreads like wildfire, and Bong-san and Joo-woon meet to discuss what happens next. Joo-woon asks Bong-san to pay for what his son has done since their treaty states that they can’t harm each other. Just then, Gi-jun walks in on their meeting and asks Bong-san whether he will abide by the rules. It’s clear that Gi-jun knows the truth, and it’s clear that the two heads are scared of what he will do next.
He asks the two to sit back and watch as he takes revenge.
What Happens in the Aftermath?
In a last-ditch effort to save his son, Bong-san offers his hotel to Joo-won to save his son’s life. That night, Joo-woon decides to put it all behind them to not start a war with Bongsan, while Cheon Hae-beom, after talking to Gi-jun, decides to put out a hit on Jun-mo. At Joo-woon’s, Yeong-do informs him to set a new rule and either strike a deal with Bongsan or betray everyone and take it all. Hearing all this in secret, Lee Geum-son toys with the idea of going through with the search and seizure warrant.

Gi-jun eventually makes his way to Jun-mo, whose overconfidence is punched out of him after he utters one sentence in front of Gi-jun. As he goes into hiding, Gi-jun employs Seong-won to find Jun-mo within 24 hours.
Is Gi-jun Able to Get Revenge?
After battling dozens of goons, Gi-jun is able to kill Jun-mo at his own hideout. Unfortunately for him, Bong-san informs him that Jun-mo wasn’t the one who put out the hit on Gi-seok. However, he refuses to listen, and in the aftermath, his car is pushed off the bridge by someone.
What Happens in the End?

In Mercy For None episode 5, we learn that someone from Joo-woon’s company had put out a hit on Gi-seok. Bong-san surmises that Joo-woon had never intended for Gi-seok to inherit his company and instead wanted Geum-son to inherit it. Although Joo-woon disagrees, the prosecutors arrive at Bongsan to arrest everyone in the office. Meanwhile, Joo-woon realises that Yeong-do was the one who had been stealing money from the company and had ordered the hit on Gi-seok. Unfortunately, he, too, disagrees and directs his attention towards Geum-son.
As the blame game continues, Joo-woon kills Bong-san to save Geum-son and puts Gi-jun on Yeon-do’s tail to finish him off. However, unbeknownst to him, Geum-son has been playing a different game from the beginning and pulls off a coup, pushing Joo-woon off his throne and taking the company over. Yeong-do eventually kills Joo-woon and puts the blame on Gi-jun, who gets arrested.

Of course, that doesn’t work for too long, and Seong-won helps him get out of jail. Elsewhere, Geum-son orders a search and seizure on Yeong-do and, in a bid to run, is caught and killed by Gi-jun. In the aftermath, Hae-beom sends Geum-son’s secret tape to all the news channels, which destroys his reputation and puts Gi-jun on his tail. In the last scene, facing each other, Gi-jun finally takes the revenge that he has been craving for killing Geum-son with his own hands instead of letting him shoot himself.
Bruised, battered and slowly dying, Gi-jun goes back to the campsite and thinks about Gi-seok.
