Continuing the egg challenge from the last episode where everyone is given 6 eggs in total and had to go through 3 rounds. The first round was to make a French Meringue with stiff peaks, perfect texture, and stability. Sachin was the first one to complete the Meringue and got safe instantly. In the second round, they had to make a poached egg with a runny yolk. The first two contestants to finish the challenge were given the safety, where Priya and Kamaldeep aced it.

The remaining contestants – Priyanka, Santa, Nazia, Avinash and Suvarna, had to now compete in the final third round to save themselves from elimination. They were tasked with making a dish with the remaining eggs – keeping it as the star ingredient on the plate and were given 60 minutes in total. Also, they were only given 2 minutes in the pantry.
The contestants who wisely used their eggs had at least 3-4 left, whereas Santa and Suvarna only had 2 eggs and had to make something from them only. Being an elimination round, some contestants decided not to take risks and make one perfect dish. On the other hand, some thought that they have to beyond a step to secure their position.
Santa was the first one to be called upon and she made an egg shakshuka, cloud bread and a yolk custard dessert. The judges asked her why she didn’t present her shakshuka in an iron pan which is how it’s typically served. However, the addition of a dessert made the plate better and overall flavours were liked by the judges. On the negative side, her bread was wet from the inside and the custard was too firm.
The next contestant to present was Priyanka who tried to make a Paris–Brest, a French dessert but turned into a savoury instead with mushrooms and salad and for the cream she used eggs. She called it – breakfast on my plate, however, she wasn’t happy with her plating as some ingredients were not as she had imagined. The judges felt the same yet commended her idea and asked her to explore it further.
Suvarna made an egg ravioli with ricotta and spinach filling. The judges commented how the plate seem lonely with just one ravioli where it should be more than that, also the egg yolk should flow when cut. But due to delay the yolk had been cooked, yet it was still soft and judges found it good enough. They liked the overall flavours.

Next was Nazia who made egg ras malai served in a tart with egg halwa barfi. But the tart soaked up the ras malai and the barfi was too crumbled rather than being soft. Judges also found it to be too sweet with lacking egg flavour. But her plating was complimented for being spot on. The last contestant was Avinash who tried to make nargisi kofta but the outer meat layer didn’t stick so he changed it to a deconstructed version with a frittata.
The judges didn’t find his plating to be appealing enough, also on tasting, the meat was undercooked with less seasoning. The judges were not at all impressed with the dish today as it lacked basic things like salt and plating. Looking at the evaluations, it was quite evident who was going to get eliminated. Therefore, Avinash was announced to be eliminated and bid goodbye to everyone in the end.
Final Thoughts: MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 25
Usually, the judges choose a dish of the day, however, there weren’t any today. Instead, they declared Gurkirat’s dish as the dish of the week, which they can’t stop talking about. Compared to last week the challenges were quite simple this week, yet the dispirited contestants were not able to ace them.

Next week’s challenges seem to be more challenging and full of pressure and it will be interesting to see who shines amongst them. In every show there are some contestants whom we feel should have won but the actual winners have also won for a reason, so we are still content with it. Here for some reason, the whole thing seems very predictable. I wouldn’t go to the extent of calling it rigged but I can already see who will be in the finals and even winning it.
