Love Death and Robots Season 3: Previous Episodes to Watch to Understand the New Season

Love Death and Robots Season 3 is almost here and is it presenting us with something we have never seen in this universe before- a sequel! Well, the show has been known for its gorgeous trippy visuals and the individual storylines it pursued as an anthology series. But often enough fans have been left wanting for more. So, this time around makers are giving us some direct sequels from the show’s first season that we cannot wait to watch.

The show is produced by Tim Miller, Joshua Donen, David Fincher, and Jennifer Miller and is the re-imagining of Fincher and Miller’s long-in-development reboot of the 1981 science fiction animated film Heavy Metal. What is special about this season of the show is the continuation, out of the nine episodes the show will consist of there has been confirmation on two episodes which will continue the story from the first volume of the show. Ahead of their release, let us take a quick look at it!

Season 1 Episode 2: Three Robots

This episode from the first season of the show was well enjoyed by many where we saw the titular characters discuss the wreckage left behind after humans were destroyed by robots on the planet. The funny, quirky conversation between the three main characters forms the highlight of this episode. And, it is a must-watch not only because it is fun and, one of the most loved episodes of the show but also because they are coming back in season three!

Serving as the first direct sequel in the history of Love Death and Robots, Three Robots: Exit Strategies is going to be one of the episodes in the third season. It is by the acclaimed sci-fi novelist John Scalzi and, our titular trio is set to please us all again!

Season 1 Episode 3: The Witness

The Witness did leave fans shocked and impressed all at the same time with its time loop, a never-ending story that we still can’t quite figure out to date. Created by Alberto Mielgo, this is one story that will stick by you. Although this episode is not getting a direct sequel in the upcoming season, the episode Jibaro will mark the return of Mielgo to the franchise once again. And, if you are careful enough, you will notice the similarities between the animation and the characters of the two episodes making them intertwined in one way or the other.

There is also speculation that season one’s episode 14 titled Zima Blue will also be reinvented in the upcoming season. However, there has been no confirmation on it yet.

Love Death and Robots Season 3 Trailer

Love Death and Robots Season 3 is set to arrive on Netflix on May 20, 2022. This season will consist of nine episodes in total. The runtime ranges from 6 to 20 minutes for these episodes.
