Jennifer Lopez: Halftime Is All About Her Rise to Success

Lopez prepared for one of the biggest stages in entertainment, and Netflix wants you to be there when the superstar makes history with her showcase. The Halftime documentary is a must-see for any JLo fan.

She is by far one of this generation’s most iconic and influential artists. The singer born in the Bronx is known for her acting stints in Selena, Out of Sight, The Wedding Planner, and Maid in Manhattan, to name a few.

Jennifer Lopez: Halftime Review: Empowering and Sensational

I should start by saying that I was a big fan of Lopez growing up. I caught the tail end of the Jenny from the Block era, but I’ve always been interested in what she has going on since then. The Halftime documentary is promising to be a great look into Lopez’s life and career—and unlike other films that look entirely into her past, this one will also focus on the future.

We get to see Jennifer Lopez as a person, rather than just as a celebrity — and one we don’t usually have much insight into.

Her Struggles and Ensuing Fame is Perfectly Captured in Halftime

When watching a documentary, it’s often easy to forget that you’re viewing something that’s already been edited down. If a filmmaker doesn’t want to include a particular clip, they won’t — even if it makes the film more impactful. But in the case of Netflix’s new JLo-centric docuseries, Halftime, things are different.

Lopez is one of the world’s most highly paid and sought-after performers. In a new and exclusive fashion, Netflix documented this once-in-a-lifetime performer featuring archival footage and behind-the-scenes interviews with her.

Jennifer Lopez: Halftime Review: Empowering and Sensational

Halftime sees things from a new angle. With JLo as its subject, it’s moving and thought-provoking in equal measure. Lopez is known as someone who never stops working. She gets back on stage to make more music, goes to auditions to land roles in new movies and TV shows, and she’s still trying her hand at Broadway while raising her children.

If there’s any star who deserves their very own documentary, it’s her. And that’s exactly what she created, Jennifer Lopez: Halftime. The documentary not only records the superstar’s rise to fame but also gives an inside look at her private life as a mother and businesswoman and her hard work in staying on top, taking fans through some of the most important moments of her career and home life including the incredible 2000 Grammys red carpet dress that turned the internet upside down.

Eighteen years ago, Lopez took the music and film world by storm. It started a historic career as one of the world’s most successful and powerful pop stars. Years have passed, but JLo’s spirit-up anthem and signature moves remain as fresh as ever.
