The premise is straightforward in this show, the heirs of two influential families are forced into marriage by their grandparents.

The female lead, Akane, is a classic tsundere, deeply in love with the male lead but far too shy to admit it. Meanwhile, Saito, the male lead, is indifferent to who might like him but effortlessly attracts the attention of women in his life. If this sounds like a trope you’ve seen before, that’s because it is.

Akane is undeniably cute, though her habit of throwing unnecessary tantrums can make her a bit grating. Saito, on the other hand, tries to remain calm despite the pressure. His life takes a dramatic turn when he’s forced into marriage with Akane, the girl he supposedly dislikes the most. But with the family business on the line, he has no choice but to comply.

The story moves at breakneck speed, with the marriage taking place and the couple moving in together on the same day. Naturally, they’re made to share a bed, setting up the obligatory heart-racing moments. Adding to the drama, they must also keep their relationship a secret from their friends at school, a staple of generic forced-romance anime.

This episode already felt much better than the previous episode, as it had far better comedy that actually makes you laugh. The couple has finally started going to school, and they must pretend that nothing is out of the ordinary. However, Saito cannot hide his relationship away from Shisei as she quickly catches on to the fact that he is married. Shisei even blackmails him into agreeing to give her a bribe so that she keeps her mouth shut.

The most intriguing part is definitely when we see how difficult it is for both protagonists to live together. They have lived their lives in their own way, and now that they’re forced to be codependent on another person. Saito has lived his life like a true bachelor even though he is filthy rich. His choice of snack is ready-to-eat vegetable soup and instant ramen. Plus, he gets his protein from protein powder which is absolutely, an atrocious way to live a life. Thankfully, now that he has a wife who is willing to cook for him, he gets to have decent meals after a long time.

But this was not all. Their interests are far too different, and they even fight about any and every little aspect. However, after much contemplation, they do talk things out and set some very important rules to maintain their marriage.

This episode established one thing. Both Akane and Saito have their own support systems in the form of their friends and cousins, respectively. Himari and Shisei give very good advice and influence the relationship between our couple in a positive direction, knowingly or unknowingly.

Verdict

I like today’s episode a lot and love the chemistry between them. This episode was a lot more entertaining and intriguing. There are some scenes that generally do make you crack a smile with the wholesomeness but the big question is how long will this peace last?
