Last week, Seong-ah was shocked to learn that Bong-su has completely taken Gyeon-woo over and is planning on living in his body. When this news reaches Ji-ho, he promptly hands over Bong-su’s silver ring to Yeom Hwa, who lies to him about its power, resulting in her misusing it to summon the Grim Reaper. Of course, a sacrifice needs to be made, and General Dongcheon ends up paying the hefty price.

Head Over Heels Episode 11 Recap
Continuing the events of last week’s episode, Yeom Hwa is left restless and enraged after General Dongcheon’s death, and she immediately rushes to confront Bong-su, but he has already escaped through the window. Yeom Hwa tries to confront Bong-su, but Seong-ah stops her from running to her imminent death, promising to protect her, just like her mother did.
We then suddenly see Seong-ah and Gyeon-woo going on a date and having the best of times as if nothing is wrong. However, it seems like it’s all an illusion or a dream – something that can’t happen. These warm, dream-like scenes are intercut by Yeom Hwa begging Flower Master to untie her, pleading with him to stop Seong-ah because evil entities don’t bring calamities; they are the calamities that end up plaguing everything around them.

Eventually, Seong-ah leaves Gyeon-woo in his dream-like state, taking Bong-su with her. With her mother’s wise words in mind, Seong-ah walks ahead with Bong-su in tow, completely of the mind that she’s going to save Gyeon-woo in one way or another.
As the seasons change and the kids move on from one grade to another, surprisingly, Seong-ah is nowhere to be seen. Gyeon-woo does well, a bit too well in Ji-ho’s opinion, and he starts to follow him around. In an interesting twist, Gyeon-woo meets Hui-na, who admits to starting the fire, and the two make amends, promising to choose happiness from now on. As graduation rolls around, Ji-ho misses Seong-ah even more, reminiscing that this was her dream all along, and now she is missing in action.

So, where is Seong-ah?
Gyeon-woo goes back to the temple and is met by Yeom Hwa, who tells him that the deities have all left the temple because it no longer has an owner, telling him that it’s odd that although the deity has left, Seong-ah seems to be alive. She mentions that since they were united by the Unify Spell once, they will know if something happens to her and surmises that it must be some trick by Bong-su. She mentions that they must find Seong-ah before she hurts others.
Gyeon-woo refuses to believe her, but she mentions that she wasn’t harmful at first either and that people change. Desperate to find her, Gyeon-woo, too, takes up his bow and arrow and threatens to harm the Flower Master’s deity to get protective amulets from him. Of course, it’s all Yeom Hwa’s doing, and she decides to let him find Seong-ah since she has been unsuccessful for a year. In a rather heartbreaking twist, Yeom Hwa tells Auntie that to exorcise the entity from Seong-ah, she must kill her as well.

It’s a gruelling few months for Gyeon-woo; he finally finds Seong-ah, but she’s now completely taken over by the ghost. Yeom Hwa gets there as well and tries to get her to come back with her, but Gyeon-woo stops her and lets Seong-ah escape. It’s a terrible situation for her as Yeom Hwa seems to be genuinely trying to undo her past mistakes. She warns Gyeon-woo to be vigilant and run away if he comes across Seong-ah because she might try to kill her. He doesn’t believe her at first, but seems quite scared.
2 years pass, and Gyeon-woo seems to be doing quite well with his dreams and aspirations. Things between Ji-ho and Gyeon-woo are tight as always. Later, Gyeon-woo gets the call that Great Aunt has died. He goes to visit and gets Seong-ah’s moisturiser back that he had left with her for their protection. With a heavy heart, he runs into Yeom Hwa again, who again reminds him to call her if he so much as gets an inkling from Seong-ah.
Deciphering his dreams, Gyeon-woo is able to figure out what his dreams mean, and he goes to meet Flower Master, where, interestingly, Seong-ah is also there, but… more evil. Gyeon-woo eventually discovers Bong-su/Seong-ah there and gives chase, after which he kisses him, trying to move over to him, but to no avail.
Head Over Heels Episode 11 Review

Wait… where are we going with this series now? Till the last episode, I could see an end nearby. But this episode takes it on a whole other level and takes us on a wild journey, which doesn’t exactly make a lot of sense. It seems like whole scenes are missing from the episode, and somehow, the Bong-su story just isn’t ending. What’s totally getting to me is how they went from sort of cutesy and very dark to absolute insanity in one episode. It’s just a mess now, where anything and everything is happening, and the story feels utterly dragged and pointless. I wonder how the series will end tomorrow, now that so much has happened. It’s so odd.
