Head Over Heels Episode 1 Recap
The episode opens with Seong-ah performing an exorcism ritual on a possessed person. However, before she is able to remove the spirit, her alarm goes off and she pushes the spirit to quickly leave the person’s body since she has to go to school. After bombing the exam, she returns home to her irate mother, who chastises her for leaving the ritual and running off. She, however, dreams of a normal life.
After seeing her clients for the night, she wonders how lucky the others are since they are able to live a normal, fulfilling life with normal problems. She wonders about the person she will end up loving, and on that note, falls in love at first sight with Bae Gyeon-woo. Unfortunately, she deduces that her client doesn’t have a lot of time to live. His grandmother asks for her help to rid Gyeon-woo of his misfortunes, and Seong-ah decides that she must save him no matter what. Of course, her mother is vehemently against this idea and reminds her of what happened to the butcher shop guy, whom she also tried to save.

Desperate to save Gyeon-woo at any cost, she asks for her mother’s help, who, after enquiring about her insistence to save him, is flustered to learn that she has developed a crush on her client. The next morning, disheartened with everything, she is shocked to see Gyeon-woo in her class as a new exchange student. She is so shocked, in fact, that she stands up in the middle of class, which results in everyone making fun of her. Gyeon-woo, thankfully, helps her get over this faux pas.
That night, Seong-ah saves Gyeon-woo from a falling sign and gets saved by him in the process. She decides to take it upon herself to help her client, as per her mother’s words, and goes off to visit the Flower Master’s Shrine to get guidance. The next day, she calls for Gyeon-woo to give him some amulets, but he calls her a fraud who is only after money. After he leaves, Seong-ah changes her goals to focus solely on saving her love.

The next morning, she pays a visit to the Water Ghost, and although she asks her to behave, the ghost tries to kill Gyeon-woo, who enters the bathroom after her. She sprays water to make her get off of him, but as a result, Gyeon-woo is left confused about her odd behaviour and looks quite displeased!
Head Over Heels Episode 1 Review

It’s not every day that I am immediately smitten by a drama, but Head Over Heels lives up to its name, and I am hooked. It doesn’t help that Cho Yi-hyun is a peach in this show, and her positivity and cuteness radiate from her. On the other hand, Choo Young-woo is the serious male lead who needs saving, in a twist of fate. The episode is quite light-hearted and funny, and if it doesn’t take a detour to Tastefully Yours territory, I am hoping for this one to be memorable!
