The Gehraiyaan title track has become people’s favourite since we heard it in the announcement video. The song has been making its tour all over Instagram reels and Spotify playlists, only for people to appreciate it more and more. With the release of the official music video, it seems that this is a melody that will last with us for a lifetime. The upcoming romantic drama is jointly produced by Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Jouska Films and directed by Shakun Batra. The film features a tight but impactful cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa as the main cast. Veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor are also present in the film in supporting roles.
The film centres around the story of falling in and out of love. We have two sisters- Alisha and Tia, one married and the other engaged, respectively, whose worlds tear apart when certain secrets can no longer stay hidden behind the cloak of pretence. Confronting the ghosts of the past and, taking steps for the future whilst not missing all the love and affection in the present, the film promises to be as beautiful and heartbreaking as its newly released song.
The Gehraiyaan Title Track is composed by OAFF and Savera and, written by Ankur Tewari with vocals by Lothika. The team is also the creator of the English version of the song which is titled Frontline (feat. Lothika).
The song features snippets from all the characters’ lives, with the overpowering theme of love and tragedy. Deepika’s character, Alisha specific holds a lot of focus as we see her the butterflies as well as the turmoils in her life. The music video also showcases recurring scenes of waves crashing portraying how the film and, the title track is a ballad of ups and downs in one’s life. Lothika’s voice is breathtaking and absorbs you completely as you get lost in the melody of the song.
