Emmys 2022: Best Red Carpet Looks at a Rather Elegant Event

The night of the year is here as we look at Emmys 2022 headlines swarming in on all of our notifications. However, the night isn’t over until we look back at all the glamorous fashion choices made by our favorite stars on their night. Several celebrities showed up at the event and the overall style maintained by many was controlled, elegant and classy as opposed to other red carpet events when they chose to go all out.

Nevertheless, this is no Met Gala and they have to feel confident and comfortable too while receiving their accolades up the stairs of the grand platform. Here’s a list of some of our favorite looks of the night that we can’t stop raving about. While some picks are predictable, others made us take a second look with our mouths agape.

13 Best Emmys 2022 Red Carpet Looks

Zendaya

Ladies and gentlemen, Her, enough said. She has to top all the fashion “Best dressed” lists and that’s the rule. Attending the event to collect the award for her performance as Rue in HBO’s Euphoria, Zendaya turned up dressed in the all-black elegant attire. She’s now the youngest woman to bag the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy award, and probably also one of the few women to have worn a ballgown with pockets. Her custom-made black strapless Maison Valentino pick displays glory in all its grandeur on the red carpet with her sole accessory being the Bulgary diamond choker and earrings.

Sydney Sweeney

The White Lotus and Euphoria actress opted for the floral-regal Oscar de la Renta dress that could easily pass for the ‘Gilded Age’ theme for the formerly held Met Gala as well. She sported Fred Leighton jewelry and vintage rings at the event. A bustle at the back completes her dress along with the floral embroidery that adds beauty to it.

Lily James

James was a bronze vision in her close-fitting Atelier Versace. Nominated for her role in Pam & Tommy, the actress showed up on the red carpet with a bronze-shaded smokey eye to compliment her outfit. Although seen in the show as a blonde, she’s gone back to her auburn roots for her look of the night. The whole get-up goes along with basic gold jewelry and looks elegantly calm and most importantly does wonders for the woman wearing it.

Lizzo

Donning the biggest pink ballgown on the red carpet, one that matched the singer’s personality, Lizzo looked one of a kind at the Emmys 2022. Ruffles, ball sleeves, nude heels, and Lorrain Schwartz jewelry, Lizzo did it all and made heads turn by topping it all off with a high bun. The bombastic tulle texture of the dress is probably as happy as she was after winning her Emmy and dedicating it to the “big grrrls”.

Jung Ho-Yeon

Looking chic in her delicate ensemble, Ho-Yeon chose a Louis Vuitton dress for the night with an abstract pattern all over it, symbolically reminding us of the set design of her K-drama Squid Games. Her hair is arranged in a bob while bangs trickle down her forehead, with a single hairpin accessorizing it and holding it all together. Although she’s worked several years as a model prior to her acting debut in the said series, she now relies on her team for red carpet decisions and describes today’s look “as a very natural yet detailed style”, as she told Hollywood Reporter.

Elle Fanning

Walking down the carpet in her vintage “Hollywood-inspired” dress created by the “Outstanding Period Costume” designer Sharon Long, Fanning was nominated for playing Catherine the Great in Hulu’s The Great. At the event, she mentioned that she followed in the footsteps of the ’50s fashion sense when costume designers would rather make dresses for such nights. Additionally, since it was her first Emmy, she “wanted to pay homage to the creatives on our show” and was “very proud to wear” it.

Britt Lower

Another one fitting the ‘Gilded Age’ theme was Britt Lower, the Severance actress. She glowed on the red carpet with her sequined gown with cuts at the torso. The look could’ve been a usual show-up at the event but her long dramatic gloves that went along with the dress amped up the radiance.

Amanda Seyfried

Wearing her ‘mermaid’ pink sequined Armani Privé Couture gown, Seyfried was a first-time nominee for her performance in The Dropout. Her floor-length gown clung to her bodice and glistened at the event, while her low bun accentuated the Cartier earrings she was spotted adorning. She went along with a purple-tinted makeup look that went well along with her outfit.

Sandra Oh

The Killing Eve actor is a purple royalty in a sequin-studded Rodarte jumpsuit. The deep neckline of the top and the matching blazer pulled the ensemble together for her while her long chandelier earrings did their own magic. She definitely owns the color purple.

Christina Ricci

Turning heads in her golden sparkling Fendi gown was the Yellowjackets actress. Her floor-length dress was accessorized with her matching clutch and blunt bob. Her sequin dress adds to the prestige of the Emmys fashionable night.

Andrew Garfield

Garfield looks dapper in his all-white suit ensemble. The Under the Banner of Heaven star chose an ivory suit by Zenga for the night. Although he wasn’t the sole bearer of the color white, he sure did own his style with his sophisticated look that went along with his casual sliver-rimmed shades.

Colman Domingo

The beloved Euphoria star opted for a metallic suit and ditched the basic black and white sophistication. His suit was paired with a sheer black top that concocted its own drama at the event. With pattern embroidery and ornamented shoes, he looked like the most uniquely dressed man on the red carpet.

Nicholas Hoult

Contrary to the other two men on this list, Hoult went for the conventional black suit, however, the reason why he makes it to this list is because The Great actor’s fitting blazer glorified the flaring pants in stark contrast. It was not the usual black suit pick one would go for such an event. Plus, a single necklace under his collar completed the look and the patch on his blazer sleeves bore a very interesting message.
