Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 Recap and Review: Politics, Jealousy and a Dark Cliffhanger

Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 works as a balancing instalment for the series and completely transforms the tone of the drama. The episode is layered with coaching politics and Nam Haeng-Seon’s outbursts for the same. And also finds her taking a stand for her niece. Notably, the Kdrama is directed by Yoo Je-Won and features Jung Kyoung-Ho and Jeon Do-Yeon in the main roles. Moreover, the series also takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9:10 KST time slot previously occupied by Alchemy of Souls.

Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 has a runtime of 60 minutes.

-Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 Recap Contains Spoilers-

Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 starts with Choi Chi-Yeol’s amusement about the events of episode 3. When a drunken Nam Haeng-Seon lifted him up and spun him around in excitement. The episode initiates with this awkward interaction between the duo and then leads into a morally twisted instance.

Throughout the episode, we get to see Nam Haeng-Seon fighting back after her niece is unjustly removed from the institute without any proper explanation (As a result of class politics). Her niece’s removal from the course comes as a shock to Nam Haeng-Seon, who is determined to find out the reason for her dismissal. She is also visibly upset to get her niece reinstated into the course.

As she investigates, she finds out that the decision to remove her niece was made by the institute’s administration (due to an unforeseen rule). Nam Haeng-Seon becomes increasingly frustrated and angry at the injustice done to her niece. Something which definitely reflects in her protest.

At the same time, we see the start instructor Choi Chi-Yeol, who is the head teacher of the course, also taking a stand for Nam Haeng-Seon and her niece. He threatens to quit the course if Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece is not admitted back to the course. And ensures that no student is left behind by minute irregularities. This just shows how much he cares for Nam Haeng-Seon and her niece and the extent to which he is willing to take a stand for them.

However, the threat to quit the course does not work out and Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece is not reinstated into the course. In the end, Choi Chi-Yeol decides to give her a private class instead. This is another gesture of goodwill and shows his dedication to teaching and helping students succeed. The rest of the students also plead with him not to leave the course, as they value him as a teacher and appreciate the perks that the star tutor provides.

As the episode concludes, we see a dramatic turn of events when a rude student, who had taken the place of Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece in the course, gets pushed off from a height. This shocking event occurs after someone overhears him confessing to his deed of replacing the student.

The episode ends on a note of triumph for Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece. As she is finally able to join the private course and receive the education she deserves, directly from the star tutor. Thereby serving as a reminder that good ultimately triumphs over evil and that fighting for what is right is always worth it.

The episode carries a strong message about standing up for what is right, fighting for the just, and the impact of one’s actions. Nam Haeng-Seon and Choi Chi-Yeol serve as inspirations in the episode, showing the strength of determination and the significance of fighting for what’s worth it.

The episode also emphasizes the value of having a dedicated teacher (something I never had), as seen in the students’ efforts to convince Choi Chi-Yeol not to leave the course. Choi Chi-Yeol’s character also shines in this episode as he decides to go against the odds, and do what is right.

The fight for Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece to be reinstated into the course is the best highlight of the instalment for me. His dedication to teaching and helping students succeed is evident and he is a kind-hearted person, with morals in the right place. His decision to give Nam Haeng-Seon’s niece a private class is a selfless act and shows his act of goodwill.

Furthermore, the dramatic turn of events at the end of the episode adds an exciting touch to the story and keeps you engaged. All in all, Crash Course in Romance Episode 4 leaves a lasting impact on the audience, with its powerful and meaningful tone.
