Cosmic Love is a dating reality show on Amazon Prime Video. The show features 4 singles, who had bad luck in past relationships. The 4 singles are Noel Allen, Maria Rodriguez, Connor Shennan and Phoebe Davis. Inside the house, 16 singles are waiting for them, and one might be their soulmate. There are a total of 10 episodes of an hour each.
The IMDb synopsis reads, “A mystical guide, the Astro Chamber, leads four individuals as they attempt to find their perfect spouse via astrological matchmaking. They mingle, match, date, eliminate, and eventually make the biggest decision of their lives.”
In Amazon Prime Video’s dating show Cosmic Love, we meet four singles representing the four main elements – water, earth, air and fire. An Astro Chamber will guide the singles to find their perfect match inside the house. The Chamber has a woman’s voice who guides these love-thirsty people to find their soulmates.
Inside the house, 16 hot singles are chosen as per their compatibility with all four elements. When Noel, Connor, Maria and Phoebe enter the retreat, they form connections with certain singles. However, they will be dating only those individuals who the Astro Chambers feels are suitable and perfect for them.
Well, hearts don’t run by astrology. There are times when the 4 contestants fail to build any connection or likeness for the individual they got matched with, by Astro Chamber. Sometimes, the singles inside don’t feel attracted to the main contestant they’re paired with. The people inside the retreat or “social experiment” are also confused about who they like more.

The astrological dating show is similar to Love is Blind, Too Hot to Handle, MTV Splitsvilla and others. But here, they follow whatever the Astro Chambers tell them. Did I mention the Astro Chamber is a big shiny ball? We never know who the voice is till the end. I wonder how much the singles were paid to let a big ball and a voice decide their fate.
The purpose of Cosmic Love is to provide the contestants with cosmic connections, cosmic soulmates and marriage. Yes, people do get married in the end! But that happens after a lot of silly, and high school-level dating drama.
Every contestant had doubts about the decisions made by that big ball several times. So why did they even spend time with people they have no interest in? There’s a man named Phil who is paired with Phoebe. His absurd and manchild behaviour made my blood boil. Phil appears aggressive, can’t take no for an answer and is dominating. He’s a big red flag, who is hyped too much in the show.

Connor seemed like he had no interest in being in the show. Even though it is forced upon us that he did form a “connection” with someone, his body language and the way he talks prove he’s done with everyone already. He just wants to get out and question his decision to be on the show.
Noel and Maria are the most dramatic people who are confused about many things. The two had no clue for a long time which person they wanted to be with. If they were Bigg Boss contestants, they would’ve helped the show with good TRPs with their relationship dramas and over-the-top personalities.
The official synopsis calls Cosmic Love on Amazon Prime Video a ‘one-of-a-kind social experiment’. So it’s hard to believe everything that happened in the last episode. Aren’t social experiments staged and done to find the results of various possibilities? I will believe the couples are married only after there’s another season featuring their real married life together.

Cosmic Love Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, Cosmic Love is just another dating reality show where singles mingle, date, break up, cause drama, confusion and claim they found the one. However, instead of using their brains and logic, they find partners by listening to what the big round shiny ball says.
I have no problem with astrology, and I think it’s cool. I sometimes say “relatable” whenever there’s a post about my zodiac sign. But it’s hard to believe that grown-up individuals claim to find love by listening to someone else because their stars match and get married in just a few weeks!
Watch Cosmic Love on Amazon Prime Video.

Just could not get around how cheap and clumsy the sets and cinematography was (noting a long set shot that focused on a mouldy building defect. Why?)
Did they shoot this in the middle of winter to get a cheaper rate for the set? Every shot was just of freezing women braving the elements. So uncomfortable to watch.
Honestly, it takes a particular kind of stupid to make the climatic episode of a ‘proposal set’ ‘IN’ the water in a wind storm at night. Where they not expecting women to be wearing gowns and high heels?! So obviously disconnected between production, cast and set design it felt like a school project.
