While music fans are out there rooting for Kpop X Western artists collaboration, here are Park Jimin and Ryan Gosling forging a Kpop X Hollywood connection with this unexpected Barbie-BTS crossover! A match made in heaven we never knew we needed has now introduced us to the unlikeliest of duos – with each counterpart “Kenough” in their own rights.
The new live-action Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig has casted a pink spell all over the globe, but it has also helped two stars on the opposite end of the entertainment spectrum to connect with each other through their flawless “Kenergies”. Thus, proving that the two stars having sported the same style also have similar upbeat personalities that have allowed for this crossover of the decade to pop out of nowhere.

When the first looks of the 2023 movie came out, many K-pop fans rushed to Twitter to speculate how Gosling was adorning the same outfit as the one put on by the BTS singer in the Permission to Dance music video. The resemblance was in fact proven to be true, as instead of refuting these comments and giving way to a spiteful controversy, Gosling took charge of the situation and addressed the Ken outfit issue head on.
Establishing the “Ken Code”, he readily accepted the resemblance by taking to the official Barbie movie Twitter handle and praised the Like Crazy singer for wearing it first and how “he definitely wore it best”. Having borrowed a fellow Ken’s style, the new code so officially announced by the actor declared that he would have to give BTS Jimin his most prized possession, i.e. the Ken guitar as his “humble offering”. Thankfully, just like Ken, the issue was instantly diffused into something that isn’t to be worried about, rather this very address bridged the gap between the two different worlds of the Entertainment sector, and gave to a wholesome exchange between the two.
And now, on July 24 (IST), “Ken Jimin” has also laid out his warm words in return, thanking the movie star and wishing him even more success on the latest release. Taking to his official Instagram account, the K-pop idol sent out the following message to Gosling, and set the record straight on this BTS Barbie interaction, “Hi Ryan and Hi Ken. It’s Jimin. Congrats on your big release. My fans are excited to see your video so thank you so much. I could see that you look great in my outfit. Thank you for this guitar. I really love it. And I look forward to watching Barbie. Go Barbie!”
