Another Simple Favor Ending Explained
After reaching Capri for Emily’s wedding extravaganza, she meets her to-be husband, Dante Versano, who is a mob boss in Italy. Among the no-phone rule and the crazy relatives who constantly create a ruckus, Stephanie is constantly on edge, wondering whether she is going to get killed at any moment. She also comes across Sean, Emily’s ex-husband and her affair partner, which makes for an awkward encounter. It also doesn’t help that he is extremely irate with Emily and will stop at nothing before taking Nicky away from her.
Unfortunately, when he explodes during the rehearsal dinner, he is asked to leave, and later on ends up dead in the shower. Meanwhile, Dante’s mother invites Emily’s mother to the festivities, accompanied by her aunt. There’s clearly something wrong with Margaret and Aunt Linda, as they both appear a bit kooky, but Emily has bigger fish to fry. That night, after Sean’s dead body is discovered, everyone immediately suspects Stephanie.
Later, Stephanie comes across more and more odd things, including a random woman who seems to be following Linda and her and stumbles upon Dante and his rival Matteo Bartolo’s ominous conversations. Soon after the wedding, though, she sees Dante getting shot and killed, and she is left shocked and overwhelmed, more so when she is put under house arrest. She makes a run for it with the help of the FBI and goes to Margaret’s room when she tells her about Emily’s third twin sister, who seemingly died during birth.
Surprise, surprise — Aunt Linda kept the baby for herself and raised her as her own. That baby now, Chastity, is after them and, with Linda, is trying to get money out of Emily and Dante. In the end, Emily tells Stephanie about Chastity and how she has been trying to extort her. She further opens up that Dante is actually gay and has been in a relationship for 15 years with Matteo, and she was simply his beard. Chastity is under some odd impression that she and Emily are soulmates and will be united in the end, and that’s why she killed Sean and Dante.
In the final showoff, when Linda holds Nicky captive and the two women confront her, they make Linda and Chastity fight when the latter realises that Linda has been planning to kill Emily. She throws her aunt/mother off the cliff, and Emily manipulates her to take the fall for her crimes. In the last scene, Emily thanks Stephanie for all her help and asks her to take care of Nicky and give him a normal life, while Portia Versano asks for a favour from Emily, proving that her conning ways are yet to be over.
