And Just Like That Episode 10: “Seeing the Light”
The finale episode of this reboot series is directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Michael Patrick King, Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky. In And Just Like Episode 10, all the loose ties of the season see some light. We start the episode with Carrie, who is on a date with Peter. And, as romantically as we’d like the date to go, it isn’t wonderful as Carrie still has not moved on from Big’s death it seems.
There is a spiritual element to the storytelling in this episode, which does not match the way the entire season has gone by. We see Carrie assuming Big is communicating with her through her flickering study lamp and, even get to witness her dream about Big’s final resting place. As uncanny as this particular plotline sounds, the dream sequence, which could have been beautiful, was really rather messed up with bad editing.
We also see Miranda and Che’s bond move forward. With Che moving to California for a big break, they ask Miranda to join them in LA for the taping. And well, it seems Miranda is ready in a heartbeat. How Carrie, Nya, Charlotte and everyone else is going to react to it comes to a lot later. Exactly the way she broke the divorce news to Steve. In this reboot season, Miranda has been more impulsive than ever and replicates Carrie’s impulsive essence from the SATC days.

The highlight of And Just Like That Episode 10 would definitely have to be Rock’s ‘they’ mitzvah. Charlotte has truly faced more parenting problems this season than one can imagine, with Rock’s Jewish celebration of being 13 being the last. We see Charlotte go out of the way to bring in a trans-Rabbi and, prepare the entire event. But when Rock turns back from the entire thing, it looks like Charlotte’s world would fall apart.
Apart from our main characters, we finally get to see Seema finding a potential guy for herself that goes beyond getting laid. Meanwhile, things don’t look good for Nya as a small hit drops about the fact that Andre is taking up solo touring which leaves a space between them.
And Just Like That Finale: The Verdict
And Just Like That has tried to hit the audiences with nostalgia, more than concrete plot lines. At times the episodes were drastic and badly written, sometimes they were really emotional and fun but, there were also times when you couldn’t help but take offence at how certain characters are no longer the way you remember to be. But, the reboot truly serves as a learning lesson that things change, people change and, you either accept them the way they are or leave them behind and move on.

And Just Like Episode 10 ends in a nice, comforting way- a little hopeful, a little Sex and the City. But there is nothing that can make this series as prized as the original was. Hopefully, looking back at it, people will just forget it ever existed.
