The Silent Noise Episode 4 Recap

The episode opens with Jackie asking Anton about the mayor, but he completely sidesteps the conversation. Thinking back to her conversation with Manu about the mayor and Ted being connected to Sam’s death somehow, Jackie chooses to stay quiet to keep Anton safe. Meanwhile, pressure mounts for Matteo, who is burdened with Jem’s pregnancy news.

As things get back to some sort of normalcy, with the heat of the investigation being removed from Anton to Ted, Jackie is still unsure about Ted’s involvement in the ordeal, especially as she notes how he started to make more of an appearance after Able Hearts Foundation was established. Although Manu notes that he didn’t have any connection to the NGO on paper, Jackie reiterates that he might just be connected to the entire thing through the mayor himself.

With this information, Manu talks to Ted and asks whether someone else is after him, considering the bullet that hit him didn’t come from the police. Ted, however, refuses to divulge any information. When Manu returns to the station, however, he is shocked to become the new Police Chief after Reden’s retirement. When he later asks his friend about it at the Regional Office, he becomes even more confused to learn that his appointment was at the mayor’s orders.

In the aftermath, Manu refuses to continue helping Jackie, leaving the latter heartbroken. Anton, meanwhile, watches the two from afar and confronts Jackie when she comes home. Meanwhile, after being dumped, Jem decides to go online and tell the whole world that Matteo got her pregnant and then left her. In this mess, she further exposes to everyone that Matteo was the one who pushed Sam off the cliff, leaving everyone shocked.

What a shocking twist for Jackie and her family as the person she has been searching for so long seems to be living right under her roof. However, considering how obsessive Jem is, it’s probably a good idea to err on the side of caution, considering now that she’s been burned, she might just be lashing out. That being said, there’s definitely something going on here that we are yet to learn, and I am excited to see what comes next.

On that note, I also think the Cortez storyline is just too boring and mostly doesn’t make sense either. We spend too long watching him make angry faces, but he never comes out with any new information. I don’t understand the point of his character and why he’s getting this much screen time, considering he just reiterates everything that he hears and doesn’t deduce anything. The episode had some major pacing issues and was quite boring at times. Thankfully, the last twist might just make up for it.
