In Episode 13, Han-young blows the whistle and shows the true colours of Seonjin Happiness Foundation which leads to the arrest of president Park and other elites. Shin-jin uses this to take the upper hand at Suojae and manipulates Assemblyman Woo. However Han-young has other plans to shut down Shin-jin.

The Judge Returns Episode 14 Recap
Han-young is on the run as he is now a suspect, thanks to Shin-jin. Ugh. Jeong-he brings Han-young food and keeps him alive until Shin-jin stops his plans. Meanwhile, Na-yeon tries her best to clear his name and insists that Han-young has nothing to do with Woo. She is determined to stop Han-young’s name from getting spoiled.

Se-hee is shaken and gets drunk for what she has done, which is consuming her too much. Her father tells her to leave for the US so she can protect herself and the business. Surprisingly, she does agree. Meanwhile, Shin-jin challenges Han-young to come find him. But Han-young’s team fails at tracking the evil man.
The next day, Suojae members gather, and they all receive chilling information about the crimes they have done and it makes them all panic. Shin-jin then appears before them and urges them to act on his plan if details about them shouldn’t go public. He also states he can even pull down the elections with the dirt he has on all of them. This makes them all agree to serve him.
Han-young and Jin-a try to find Shin-jin, but the police officers stop them because Shin-jin has already made the arrangements. Meanwhile, Yoon-hyeok is given important documents on elite corruption and is forced to keep them safe. Additionally, Shin-jin disguises himself and meets Gwang-to and threatens them. He tries to persuade the man to work for him, but he tells him he’s given up all the information to the cops.
In a deadly move, Shin-jin decides to kill Gwang-to. With him dead, Shin-jin positions himself as the sole figure capable of controlling the remaining Suojae members. However, after Gwang-to’s death, a talisman is hired, and his clues lead the cops to finding the USB with all the corruption documents, which leads to the arrest of all the bad men.
Realising Shin-jin may attempt to flee the country, Han-Young closes in. Shin-jin revisits a childhood restaurant before seeking out an escape route through an underworld contact. Instead, he is ambushed. Han-Young intervenes, and with Jeong-Ho’s arrival, Shin-jin is finally arrested.
During the final trial, Shin-jin demands a live broadcast. Shin-jin defends his actions as necessary sacrifices for the greater good, but Han-Young firmly rejects this logic. Shin-jin is given a death sentence, and justice is served.
As the series ends, we see so many closures. Jin-a shares her painful past with Han-Young’s parents, who warmly accept her. Se-Hee begins studying law after stepping away from her company. Na-Yeon leaves her job to start her own platform. Han-Young visits Shin-jin in prison one last time, offering dumplings in a quiet gesture of closure.
As Han-Young walks away, he wonders whether justice has truly balanced his own past sins. Yet in the prison yard, Shin-jin receives a secret phone call while a new leader rises within Suojae, hinting that corruption will never ever end.
The Judge Returns Episode 14 Review
The finale was brilliant. The cat-and-mouse chase between Han-Young and Shin-jin reaches its peak, not through explosive action alone, but through ideological confrontation. Shin-jin argues that all his so-called evil was done for the betterment of life is countered by Han-young’s moral beliefs.
I really loved the ending where Han-young gives the dumplings and the two sit down to talk. This shows that Han-young isn’t really satisfied with the ending because he knows that, even though he’s done something good, he was once a very, very bad man, meaning Shin-jin isn’t really evil but is someone who didn’t get a second chance.
