Bat-Fam Review
The stakes in Prime Video’s Bat-Fam are quite low, and the gags are somewhat refreshing as Damian and Bruce Wayne live their domestic lives and enjoy some time with their misfit family doing mundane tasks and also keeping Gotham safe. The series is light-hearted and makes for a casual watch, and viewers who want something to watch with their family will enjoy its short, catchy runtime.
The novelty with these shows, however, lasts a couple of episodes, and after that, it all starts to feel repetitive. The series, with 10 episodes, might get a bit boring after a while because, however you slice it, it mostly showcases the same thing in some way or another. Some characters’ inclusions might add some novelty, but they did ultimately wear off for me after the initial few episodes as well. The characters’ interactions are also quite funny from time to time, but they don’t really stick with you.
I enjoyed the animation style, and it’s consistently bright and beautiful. Gotham is showcased beautifully, as are the characters. They are all showcased with a warmth and vibrancy that make this an engaging watch. The action sequences are crisp and watchable, and make it a fun time for kids and adults alike. If you don’t have high expectations, this one might just leave you quite entertained.
Viewers who love the Batman franchise might also be a bit miffed with how light-hearted the story is. It’s not bad, but it might not be for hard-core fans of the series. The series showcases some sweet moments between the characters, and the action is adorable. Kids, especially, will love it, but I don’t see how it adds anything truly memorable to the Batman lore.

Either way, I guess it’s a nice, light watch for fans of the famed superhero. Although it doesn’t add anything unique, it doesn’t take away from it either and is mostly interested in adding newer context to an already-existing franchise. The writing, as a whole, is witty with humour peppered in between and keeps itself simple and to the point. It’s nothing outstanding, but it’s not a bad time and will consistently leave you with a smile on your face.
Final Thoughts
Bat-Fam is fine, enjoyable even, to a certain degree. But it doesn’t add much else to make this series memorable in any way. It has its sweet, heartfelt and action-packed moments, but it’s not going to change the way we consume superhero content in any way.
