My Hero Academia Final Season Episode 1 Recap

The heroes find themselves cornered and struggling against their powerful enemies. Despite the grim circumstances, All Might refuses to give in. Equipped with a specialised suit infused with the Quirks of Class A students, he continues to stand his ground against All For One. His strategy is straightforward yet risky. He plans to push All For One to his limits until the villain’s forced de-ageing accelerates and ultimately causes his downfall.

However, All For One proves too cunning to be deceived for long, soon turning the tide and overpowering All Might. Meanwhile, on another battlefield, Kunieda wreaks havoc against Fat Gum and Aoyama. Knowing that Aoyama’s Quirk becomes uncontrollable without his belt, Kunieda exploits the weakness until Toru steps in, cleverly using her invisibility and powers to redirect Aoyama’s laser straight at Kunieda.

Back at the main fight, All Might launches a relentless assault, overpowering All For One in a fierce, one-sided clash. The effort takes a toll on him, but he presses on, determined to witness his nemesis fall. The intense power output eventually causes his suit’s energy capacitor to self-destruct, just as All For One resurfaces, this time even younger, radiating with a dangerous new aura.

This episode begins with a memory from All Might, who remembers his past days and his inspiration for becoming a hero. Funnily enough, we see him singing an Anpanman song, showcasing how the iconic hero figure must have been his superhero as well. Then we see how Stain comes at the nick of time to save All Might from All For One and assist him in the battle. It becomes clear that Stain is now on the hero side because his ideas finally align with the intentions of the heroes.

Before they could do anything to All For One, he suddenly let out all his blood by using his quirk. With this, All For One overwrote his own blood type, and that is how he managed to leave no trace of himself all these years. Needless to say, All For One overwhelms both of them and mercilessly defeats All Might. However, we got a first-hand look at the indomitable determination that All Might carries and the reason why he has been the ultimate hero.

All For One’s intentions become clear in this episode, where he explains how Tomura will become a stronger version of himself. And he plans to do this by transferring all his quirks to Tomura. But there is just one issue. Tomura is far from a controllable puppet, and he literally rejects All For One’s control over him. Later, many memorable moments happen, especially when All For One does the unthinkable with All Might.

Deku had to force himself not to go to All Might to save him, and instead do his duty of stopping Tomura. This was a heartbreaking scene and definitely the highlight of this episode. But I especially loved the second half, where one twist after another kept happening. The last minute was the most unexpected.
