Run Jin Episode 29 Review: Seokjin Needs to Keep Calm

Run Jin Episode 29 tests our beloved Hamster’s patience as that’s the target he needs to achieve in this episode- keep calm and don’t let your heart rate go beyond 100 bpm. A fun series of challenges soon follow to get him riled up, but the BTS member who is known for his “patience” isn’t so easy to defeat (unless it’s his favourite games). But will the team be able to shake his calm, or will Jin win another challenge?

Run Jin started on August 13th, 2024, after BTS Jin was discharged from the military and took over the group’s popular show Run BTS. With the other members still in the military, Jin took over and showed him engaging in various activities, adventures, and more, often with guests like TXT’s Yeonjun, Lee Yi-kyung, Jonathan Yiombi, and more! With a new episode released every Tuesday, he has been entertaining fans around the world as we await the return of all our beloved BTS members this year!

The latest episode has a special MC joining in this episode as the host needs to fulfil the challenge this time. Welcoming Youtuber Mimiminu to the show, who explains to Jin that he needs to make sure his heart rate doesn’t exceed 100 bpm more than 20 times. The games begin without much delay, with the Jin being teased without a break. His guard for everything around him heightens, and it is for the right reason because he soon finds out that there is a trick hidden in every corner.

From pillows filled with leggo blocks to drinks with oil on the caps and wet-tissues that are just too wet, there is not a moment of peace for Jin. Soon, the real game begins, and the first task is for Jin to make Ramen, but collecting the ingredients isn’t easy as we see the buffed athletes from the Squid-Jin Games making their appearance. Kim Seokjin has to pass their impenetrable wall and collect the ingredients, but he soon falls into his own trap when he forgets to shout “Go!” After the first slip-up, Seokjin prepares for battle and succeeds in collecting all the ingredients but fails to keep his heart rate in check.

Next, Jin moves on to make Ramen, and after another quick prank and a snack, the second game begins. This time, they are given keywords, and both Jin and Mimiminu need to make a news report. This time, Mimiminu takes the win despite Jin trying to play dirty by writing the keywords for him. What follows next is a “Beat Game” where Jin wins but fails to calm his heart, the “Human Mole Game” where Jin takes the win, and finally the game where Jin is the undefeatable champion- “Ring the Bell Game”.

After all the games, it is time for Jin to get a massage, which is certainly not his favourite as we see his heart rate rise while his screams fill the room. Fortunately, Seokjin manages to clear all the challenges presented to him without reaching the limit on the number of times his heart rate can go up. Thus, he wins the episode and ends on a happy note with Mimiminu. But the team is not done with playing pranks on Jin as they bring out a gift for him and it looks like a computer. Jin is excited to open the gift but is soon disappointed when it turns out to be Jin Ramen placed in a way that tricks him. This surely must have got him angry because the disappointment was quite clear on his face.

Altogether, this episode was certainly an entertainer, even without Jin screaming or losing his cool throughout the episode. The highlight has to be the group playing “Ring the Bell Game”, which almost made him lose his cool. But despite everything else, this episode was just perfect for the show and his chemistry with Mimiminu was also worth the watch.
