The song brings us a sassy energy filled with a Queen-like attitude that is done right by the two singers as they captivate us with their aura. ExtraL is the second pre-release song from BLACKPINK Jennie’s upcoming album Ruby which is set to release on March 7, 2025. The album is said to consist of 15 songs from the global superstar, carefully curated by her, as she explores different genres and steps up her game. Wrapped in beautiful red and black colours in the trailer released for her upcoming album, fans are already looking forward to the release of her first full-length album.
The music video shows us some intriguing scenes that seem straight out of a Sci-Fi film, bringing in a mix of amazement and amusement. Not only will you find yourself vibing to the song easily, but can also see it slowly creeping into you, bringing out a confidence within yourself when listening to the song that is dripping with a wonderful attitude. The class and attitude dripping from this music video is something that we have to talk about first. Talking about the awesomeness of womanhood, this song is saying a lot with such simple words that it is hard to resist. Filled with a sassy energy that is hard to resist, this song is doing it all right, all while bringing in a vibe that is ready to make everyone move.
Then there is the flawless collaboration of Jennue and Doechii which is not just fun, but also something we didn’t know we needed! I don’t know how they are doing this but what they are bringing here is no less than an anthem for women around the world who are standing up on their own. The lyrics are perfectly fitting with the vibes of the two women and they serve them wonderfully throughout the music video.
Moving on, we have to talk about the music video itself! The creativity behind this video is something that needs applause. Not only is it matching the vibes perfectly, but is also able to bring some very intriguing Sci-Fi elements that only make it better. How it all blends together so well is something that really amazes me in this video. You can see so many elements coming together- there’s fun, there’s an attitude, there’s sass, and also a charm that is hard to ignore.
Finally, we have to talk about the choreography and the transitions that take place throughout the video. The choreography is perfect, on point, and just wonderful. Meanwhile, the transitions are smooth and so easily done that you are left with no moment of distraction. This song is one you can have fun with and we are loving it. The only time you would find yourself looking away is when you find yourself dancing along to the music playing.
Altogether, this song is a perfect addition to Jennie’s upcoming album and has me looking forward to the whole album more than ever. If Love Hangover was chaotic, then this song brings an all-new feeling making me more curious about the album than ever.
