Yakuza Fiancé Episode 4 Recap

Yakuza Fiancé Episode 5 Review

The darker, more twisted side of Kirishima gradually comes to light as he starts revealing his true nature. He casually exposes himself to Shoma without offering any explanation as to how he tracked both him and Yoshino. Realizing that something is disturbingly off with Kirishima, Shoma confronts him without hesitation, even urging Yoshino to leave with him once he discovers that Kirishima has been following her by cloning her phone.

A brief altercation follows, during which Kirishima dismisses Shoma as an “outsider,” but Yoshino quickly puts him in his place, standing up for her friend and calling Kirishima the true outsider. Kirishima, surprisingly, takes her criticism in stride and promptly apologizes for his rudeness. However, his unsettling behaviour only deepens from this point, as he begins to act as oddly as he did when Yoshino first arrived in Tokyo.

Yoshino becomes increasingly aware of a menacing vibe from Kirishima, even after Shoma leaves, and she decides to confront him. Ironically, jealousy does seem to be the root cause of his strange actions.

Kirishima later reveals his warped perspective, casually telling Yoshino that he wouldn’t mind if she cheated on him because he’s into “NTR.” However, he has a peculiar twist: unlike his previous partners, he wants Yoshino to engage with others right in front of him. His plan? To eliminate any man she’s involved with afterwards.

Yakuza Fiancé Episode 5 Review

The episode opens up with Yoshino finally waking up from her fever. Right off the bat, she notices how Kirishima has been taking care of her diligently, and he even stayed awake the whole night. When asked what he has been doing keeping her so close to him, he replies that he wants to protect her if any of his enemies come to kill her. Apparently, now that he is in love with Yoshino, the best way to get revenge on him would be to kill her.

With their interaction, you get a sense of how obsessed Kirishima has already become with Yoshino. He can’t even think of her being vulnerable without him, even for a moment. But their situation is going to be far more interesting as a very important guest arrives in Tokyo. As Renji, Yoshino’s grandfather, had many mistresses, he also had a half-granddaughter from them. She is none other than Tsubaki, who resides in Kyoto and is very close to her cousin Yoshino.

Yakuza Fiancé Episode 5 Review

Tsubaki is an intriguing character because she is everything Kirishima would love in a girl. She is beautiful, rich, spoiled, and able to make a mess of Kirishima, just like he wanted when Yoshino first arrived. Not only that, but she is also the kind who keeps multiple lovers without being tied to a single person like Kirishima. And the moment these two interact, you can tell that she is just as twisted as him.

On the surface, they get along very well, but later, you understand the reason behind it. Both Tsubaki and Kirishima understand the shrewdness of the other and acknowledge each other’s strength. Kirishima knows how much Yoshino believes in Tsubaki, and Tsubaki understands how much Kirishima loves Yoshino, thus, a camaraderie forms between them. However, Tsubaki makes it clear that if Kirishima ever harms Yoshino, she will do everything in her power to remove him from her beloved cousin’s life.

Verdict

I love today’s episode in which we meet a mysterious character. Tsubaki is literally the female version of Kirishima, and it is interesting to see our hero interact with someone who can catch all his lies and manipulations. We also finally understand the mystery behind Yoshino selling her kidneys.
