The episode begins with a grim scene as Lawrence is humiliated when someone throws coins at him, demanding repayment. Despite the demeaning situation, Lawrence quietly collects the coins and moves on. He later approaches Holo, asking her to hold onto the money while he tries his luck gambling. Holo finally reaches her breaking point and confronts him about his pitiful behavior.

Previously, Holo had made mistakes by insisting on accompanying Lawrence, which hindered his ability to secure funds. Lawrence, in turn, had treated Holo rudely, dismissing her attempts to console him. As mature adults, they acknowledge their mistakes and sincerely apologize to each other, highlighting the growth in their relationship. A potential romantic connection becomes apparent when Holo questions why Lawrence is so understanding of her actions and feels disappointed by his unromantic response.

This tender moment is interrupted when Holo reveals a daring plan to resolve their predicament. The plan, though dangerous and likely to make them lifelong enemies of the church, offers a chance to return to normalcy if successful. However, they need Nora, the talented but misunderstood shepherd, to pull it off. Holo hopes that Nora’s feelings of betrayal towards the church will make her willing to smuggle gold from another city. A plan Nora agrees to.

Today’s episode was full of twists and turns and had ample thrilling moments. It starts with the very dangerous mission that is supposed to make things better for Lawrence and Holo. They are finally going to the city of Lamtra with Nora and try to smuggle some gold within Ruvenheigen. They are also joined by Marten, who is from the Remerio Trading Company. He is the one who is going to go inside Lamtra and take out the gold, while Lawrence and others will help him travel the road.

This is an extremely dangerous mission that can endanger their lives and make our protagonists and Nora enemies of the church. On top of that, if they find out that Holo is a werewolf, she will not be spared and will be executed right away. Lawrence, as well, will be dealt with for accompanying a werewolf.

Thus, everyone is banking on this mission because even Nora can finally be free from the church and live her life on her own terms. However, things do not go very well for this party towards the end.

The journey begins normally, and they travel the road as safely as possible. Even the mission of acquiring gold is masterfully executed, but that is when the weather becomes absolutely terrible. And with relentless rain comes a relentless pack of wolves guided by something more sinister.

Today’s episode managed to be dramatic and unexpected till the end. You believe one thing to be a problem and then find another bigger problem in the very next minute. Lawrence’s luck is definitely not with him, as we see him become entangled with problems time and time again. We do not know how he will get out of this mess.

Verdict

I love today’s episode and how it started on a light note and then ended pretty heavily. The music was absolutely beautiful throughout the scenes and complemented the setting well. We also have enough mystery to eagerly wait for the next episode.
