The Great Indian Kapil Show Episode 4 Review
Episode 4 commenced with a side-splitting skit featuring Sunil Grover, who humorously portrayed a wife searching for her husband who had left her stranded at the airport. Kapil Sharma joined in, adding to the hilarity as they comically searched for the missing man. The star guests of the episode, Vicky Kaushal and Sunny Kaushal, further elevated the entertainment with Sunil Grover playfully claiming Vicky as his husband and even treating the audience to a sultry dance routine. After Sunil Grover’s act, the spotlight shifted to Kapil Sharma and the Kaushal brothers for a game show segment, where they shared amusing and heartwarming moments about each other.
Following this, Kiku Sharda took the stage with his arsenal of jokes, effortlessly keeping the audience in stitches with his clever humour. The energy soared even higher when Krushna Abhishek made his entrance, showcasing dynamic dance moves and delivering some of his finest comedic performances of the season. Sunil Grover returned in his engineer character, adding to the merriment with his witty antics and impeccable timing.

The episode as a whole was a standout, demonstrating the show’s continual improvement and evolution. However, there were notable points worth discussing. The repeated mentions of the show airing in 190 countries by Kapil Sharma felt somewhat excessive, as it was reiterated multiple times throughout the episode. Additionally, the segment involving cross-dressing and a seductive dance by Sunil Grover isn’t a genius one, particularly on a platform like Netflix, where such content might seem out of place.
Furthermore, I found Kapil Sharma’s reference to Sunil as a “product” while dressed as a woman to be insensitive. Another aspect of the show that garnered attention was the role of Archana Puran Singh. While she provided comic relief, often being the target of jokes, she could have a more substantial role beyond simply being there for entertainment value.
Additionally, the episode seemed to lean heavily towards being Vicky Kaushal-centric. Kapil Sharma appeared to focus more on Vicky, often directing questions and conversations towards him, which led to Sunny Kaushal being somewhat sidelined. This was further reflected in the distribution of jokes, with more targeted towards Vicky than Sunny.

In conclusion, despite these points of critique, the episode was undeniably a rollercoaster of fun and constant entertainment. The chemistry between the hosts and guests was great and the comedic timing was on point. As the show progresses, it would be beneficial to address some of these aspects to ensure a more balanced and inclusive experience for viewers. Perhaps incorporating more diverse comedic elements and giving equal attention to all guests would enhance the overall enjoyment of the show.
The Great Indian Kapil Show is streaming now on Netflix.
