EXchange Season 3 Episode 19 kicks off with a special guest appearance by Yoo Yeon-seok, who expresses his love for the show. The episode begins with everyone preparing for their ex-date. Chang-jin approaches Ju-won, and they decide to wear matching outfits for their date. Meanwhile, Dong-jin and Da-hye unknowingly wear coordinating clothes, reflecting their unspoken connection.
As Sang-jeong and Min-hyung embark on their date, they engage in a heartfelt conversation about their past conflicts. Through their dialogue, it becomes evident that their communication has improved, and they share a mutual desire to stay together. Next, we saw another couple who were left by their exes for their date. They went on their date, enjoying each other’s company, and had a heartfelt conversation that would make you feel they should end up together. After completing their date, Dong-jin went for his secret date with Hye-won. Both of them were quite reserved at the beginning, especially since it was just after their ex date. Hye-won was even worried about her ex, as they had a heartfelt conversation which definitely created mixed feelings for her. Dong-jin expressed how he’s feeling scared to date again, having been with the same person for 13 years. Now, as he expresses his feelings, everything feels new to him.
At the end of the episode, we see that Dong-jin finally opens his breakup parcel that he got on the first day of the show. He discovers a pair of sneakers inside, the same ones he had gifted to Da-hye. Grateful, he thanks her for waiting for him. Upon seeing the package, he regrets his decision of not to open it earlier. In these last weeks, he realizes he has hurt her deeply, and if he had seen it sooner, he could have used the weeks as an opportunity to resolve their issues.
