Delicious In Dungeon Episode 6 Review: The 6th episode of this much-anticipated series Delicious In Dungeon or Dungeon Meshi ( ダンジョン飯 ) is finally here. In the last episode, we saw how Laois and others cooked treasure bugs into snacks. So, how did this one fare compared to the others? Find out below.
Delicious In Dungeon Episode 6 Overview
From February 2014 to September 2023, this manga unfolded in Enterbrain’s manga magazine, Harta, and Yen Press snagged its rights for North America. On the other hand, Trigger is the one producing this anime series, and it’s hitting the screens in January 2024.
Yoshihiro Miyajima will be the director of the upcoming series and the scripts will be written by Kimiko Ueno. The character designs are by Naoki Takeda, and the music is by Yasunori Mitsuda and Shunsuke Tsuchiya. The show is scheduled to debut on January 4, 2024, on Tokyo MX and other networks. Netflix will start simuldubbing and streaming the series worldwide every week on the same day. The series will last for two consecutive cours.
The opening theme song, “Sleep Walking Orchestra,” will be performed by Bump of Chicken, and the ending theme song, “Party!!,” will be performed by Ryokuoushoku Shakai.

Delicious In Dungeon Episode 6 Review and Recap – A New World Inside Paintings
The episode starts with a legitimate concern from Senshi, which even I was wondering all this time. It has been 2 to 3 episodes, and Laios’s group has still not managed to exit the third floor. They are taking too much time, and hence, food supplies are dwindling for them.
Their last meal has been insect snacks, and it couldn’t possibly fill them for a long time. So even though Laios wants to rest, Senshi tells him to get moving to find food resources as soon as possible. This is when they enter a chamber full of paintings. And these paintings can transport you to their world.
Once you get sucked in, you cannot get outside without someone’s help, and you might get trapped there forever. What is interesting about these is that they have a fully functioning world inside, carrying memories, possibly of the royal family that used to live in the palace many years ago, before they got cursed.
When Laios was inside these paintings, we saw the life of Prince Delgal unfold, from his birth to his becoming a king. That’s not all, Laios even gets recognized by an elf inside this world, for being an outsider. I suspect this character will be important later on.
But it was not just Laios who went on adventures in this episode, Chilchuck also experienced his fair share of thrill, something he did not appreciate at all.
This anime is slowly becoming more and more interesting for being an odd mixture of grim, fun, and adventure. You never know what might happen inside the dungeon, and our characters are constantly at the mercy of fate with all the traps that are laid around. Plus, you also feel a sense of intrigue regarding what might have happened to the original inhabitants of the palace.
Laios and others are only on the third floor, and already, we have seen a fair share of odd creatures that can kill humans immediately. I can only imagine how dangerous the threats can be at the next level, which they might finally enter in the 7th episode.
Verdict
This was one of my most liked episodes because I did not expect I would get a glimpse at the people who used to live in the palace. That part really made me curious about the curse and the history of its people. Now, I’m looking forward to Laios going to the 4th floor and discovering a new world there.
