Gyeongseong Creature OST: Songs That Brought Love and Excitement During a Monster Chase!

Gyeongseong Creature (경성크리처) season 1 is finally over and the thrill brought out by this show was worth the hype created by the cast and plot before its release. Directed by Jung Dong-yoon, the drama stars Park Seo-joon, Han So-hee, Kim Su-hyun, Kim Hae-sook, Jo Han-chul, and Wi Ha-joon, alongside other cast members.

The show tells the story of inhumane experiments done on Koreans during Japanese rule and a mission given to the city’s most charming man- Jang Tae-sang. Coming along on this mission is a woman- Yoon Chae-ok, who is looking for her mother but faces a truth that changes her whole life.

The Kdrama was released in two parts with part 1 bringing out 7 episodes that laid the foundation of the plot, and part 2 that gave us the rollercoaster ride when witnessing the love between the protagonists. However, it also left us with a teaser that lets us know that the story is not over and the show will be back.

While the thriller mystery kept us on our toes the whole time, it made sure to keep the feeling of love in the air at all times with its beautiful OST. So why not take a look into the music that kept the romance on while the actors ran for their lives?

Here’s the tracklist of the show that you wouldn’t want to miss!

Gyeongseong Creature OST

FOREVER by Suho

To begin with, we have FOREVER by Suho which brings the strong feelings felt by Jang Tae-sang right from the beginning towards Yoon Chae-ok. While he was unaware until she left for the hospital, the lyrics of this song make it clear what he felt for her; his want to keep her by his side forever.

The energetic song binds itself with the theme of the show in a surprising way as it shows the rush of emotions felt by Tae-sang when close to Chae-ok. The energy and playfulness match Tae-sang’s character to the fullest and adding in Suho’s voice only makes it one of our favourites on this list.

Time by Baek A

While the previous song brings us Jang Tae-sang’s emotions, Time by Baek A speaks of Yoon Chae-ok’s emotions while bringing the reference of the cherry blossoms from the show in its chorus. The fall of the cherry blossoms was supposed to be the time the two said goodbye to each other, and before the time to part came, her emotions got the best of her.

The slow-sounding music accompanied by the singer’s voice brings out the beautiful emotions felt by Chae-ok which is very different from her chaotic life. Thus, the harmony of the song and her character creates a scene so beautiful that we cannot help by indulge for some time.

Time (Elec. Ver.) by LEAFY

While Baek A’s version of this song brings out Yoon Chae-ok’s emotions for Tae-sang, this version by LEAFY brings out her emotions for her mother. Chae-ok is a complex yet simple character whose mind is not easy to decipher, however, her unconditional love is easily felt. The brief break in this song brings out a different outlook to her character and also an earning that is for her mother.

Thus, while the song Time may hold the same lyrics, the two singers make a difference in their way. This shows that while the emotion is of unconditional love, there is a difference in the way Yoon Chae-ok feels it for her mother and Tae-sang.
