Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 5 Recap

From being a carefree Sam-dal to one who embarrasses easily in front of Yong-pil, the two have come a long way in their lives. However, Yong-pil reminds her that she is the victim of whatever has happened and it is not her who should feel the need to hide herself. Listening to the words of her ex-boyfriend, Sam-dal is struck but doesn’t say much.

As she returns to her room, she sees medicine on her table and is reminded of how Yong-pil would bring her medicine whenever she fought with her mother, to her window. While she thinks of him, Yong-pil too can’t stop thinking about her. The next day, Yong-pil and Sang-do meet at the local gallery where the former gazes at the picture of his mother with Mi-ja.

Later, Sang-do asks about Yong-pil’s argument with Sam-dal and wants to know if he feels uncomfortable around her. Yong-pil denies feeling in such a way as he believes that nothing has changed between them. Meanwhile, Sam-dal receives another packet of medicine which leaves her confused.

On the other hand, the ladies of Samdal-ri are discussing Yong-pil and Sam-dal’s argument. Wondering who really broke up with whom, the topic shifts to the amusement park project being initiated in their neighbouring Namdal-ri. Meanwhile, a journalist publishing negative articles about Sam-dal makes his way to the signing ceremony for the amusement park at Namdal-ri.

However, the main guest there is none other than AS company’s president and Cho Jin-dal’s ex-husband- Jeon Da-young. Unfortunately for him, the event becomes a mess when he trips over a sea cucumber and becomes a hit on social media, making him trend as Clumsy Da-young.

If this wasn’t enough then he comes across his ex-wife while he mans the traffic in her mother’s place. The two are left shocked by this unexpected meet and are flustered. Jin-dal runs away and contacts Sam-dal to get her alcohol which is when the latter comes across Sang-do’s car and is amazed by the fact that it belongs to him.

She grabs a ride and enjoys her time while Sang-do continues to hide his feelings for her. The two soon reach Jin-dal who then hops into Sang-do’s car and escapes from there while Sam-dal is left behind in front of a beautiful view and alcohol. Suddenly, Yong-pil arrives and decides to give her company.

However, seeing him being so confident in knowing her makes Sam-dal show him in the mirror that she is no longer the person he knew her to be. She finally tells him that she is now a changed person before leaving from there.

Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 5 Ending

The next day, the reporter from Namdal-ri makes his way to Samdal-ri to get a scoop on Sam-dal and begins clicking pictures of her inside her home. Right then, Yong-pil and Sang-do arrive there and make him leave, only for him to end up with the other two Five Eagle Brothers. Finding out that he is one of the reporters spreading negativity about Sam-dal, Gyeong-tae is unable to keep his cool and breaks his camera.

This brings them to the police station and are later joined by Yong-pil and Sang-do. The four begin to defend Sam-dal when he continuously bashes Sam-dal in front of them and this is overheard by Sam-dal herself. No longer able to hold herself back, she too joins them and promises to file a lawsuit against the reporter for trespassing and breach of privacy in exchange for whatever article he posts against her.

The issue is soon solved and the five friends gather for a drink where the misunderstandings are finally cleared and Sam-dal realises that her friends have always supported her no matter where she went in life. This leaves them all feeling emotional as they get closer than ever.

The next day, Yong-pil arrives at work and predicts the weather correctly once again after which he sees Sam-dal drinking at the same place. Seeing that it is raining, he thinks of taking an umbrella to her, only to see Sang-do beating him to it.

Welcome to Samdal-ri Episode 5 Review

The plot once again progresses with new elements however, we are now held by the love triangle entering the show and just trying to understand why Yong-pil and Sam-dal broke up. It isn’t just the ladies of Samdal-ri who want to know who broke up with whom but all of us as well.

The suspense is really building up well and I’m pretty sure that mystery is not going to open up any time soon. All that we are going to get for now is a lot of their past material and the love triangle scenes to keep us entertained for the upcoming episodes.

However, other than all this I’m really hoping for Sam-dal to be free from the burden she cannot let go of. Keeping everything else aside, I really hope her gang of friends here show her that she was not the one who was wrong. While this gang itself is giving me good vibes, I hope to see more from them soon.

Altogether, I’m looking for many secrets to be revealed soon as my patience is surely running out.
