Expecting The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi Season 2 wouldn’t be wrong, given the exceptional performance delivered by the cast in the first season. It also left viewers with a few unanswered questions they hope to see addressed in the next season.
The incredible cast includes Martha Ehinome as Amanda, Jude Chukwuka as Baba Fawole, Iretiola Doyle as Mother Superior, Nene Nwanyo as Edna, Chuks Joseph as Lashe, Kevin T. Solomon as Tokunbo, Temidayo Akinboro as Kayode, Ejiro Onojaife as Ibukun, Tolulope Odebunmi as Ige, Iremide Adeoye as Idowu, among others.
The Nigerian horror series is written and directed by Jay Franklyn Jituboh, along with Boladale Falola. It has 2 episodes, each with a runtime of 100 minutes, respectively.
The story revolves around new girl Amanda in a renowned boarding school who faces unsettling dreams with dangerous motives as she settles into her new environment. Meanwhile, the puzzling demise of three people in the nearby town stirs up questions of whether an old malevolent presence has has resurfaced with evil intentions.
Considering how the first season ended, there is definitely a possibility that we would see the horrors come back for vengence.
In the first season, we see Rosemary sparing Amanda's life, as Sister Ruth convinced her that she shouldn’t be punished for her father’s actions. Rosemary then left again for the woods from where she came, but it was not confirmed that she would not kill anyone again.
In the end, Baba is talking to his friend who helped him with the sacrificial ritual and asks him what he thinks: will the spirit come back? His friend answered that, of course, it will return, not necessarily in the same town, but it will surely come back as it still resides on this plane and cannot leave. It is still here, and when people do evil, she will return.
Although Netflix is yet to confirm the news, but considering the first season just ended, we can only wait and watch.
