The story begins with Santi, an emerging reggaeton artist with a hit song called Exagerao, who is relocating to Miami in pursuit of a record deal along with his close friends Felix, his creative director, and Ness, his manager. They are determined to succeed, but the uncertain nature of the music industry in Miami poses financial challenges until they secure a deal. Their initial contact, Mia Morris, turns out to be an assistant to Oscar Morales, the executive at BPM Records, leading them in the wrong direction.

Mia, despite her lack of official authority, genuinely believes in Santi’s talent and wants to help him succeed. She secures Santi a show, but he fails to impress a journalist, Celeste Rivera. Setbacks like this demoralize Santi, though he finds motivation in small successes, like creating music for a commercial. Through Mia’s connections, they encounter Gina, a drug trafficking lady, whose involvement adds tension to their journey.

Did Santi’s Career Come to an End?

When Santi realises that what the label wants from him and what he wants for himself is very different, he decides that he won’t be part of Isa’s publicity stunt and won’t let her take the song he made for his friend. So, at the New Year’s Eve party of Isa, just after Javier Luna’s magic act, he shows up on stage and performs his song alone. He tells the public that he was never dating Isa and that everything was just a publicity stunt. After the performance, Oscar calls him and threatens to sue him, vowing to end his career and ensure he never gets to perform again.

The trio is in debt to Gina for four hundred grand and is already behind on payments. They aren’t sure what their next move will be without being able to secure a record deal. After some gentle insistence, Santi reluctantly answers, only to hear the voice of his idol, Daddy Yankee, praising his recent stage performance. Initially, Santi believes it’s a prank, but Ness and Felix convince him otherwise.

Filled with concern about his future projects, Santi confides in Daddy Yankee. The seasoned artist reassures him, encouraging Santi to visit the studio and expressing a genuine desire to collaborate. So, no, his career didn’t come to an end; instead, he got his biggest break.
