This freedom of expression enables idols to connect with their fans on a deeper level by sharing their personal stories and emotions through their music.
However, we are here to rank the solo albums by BTS members based on each artist’s growth, experimentation, production value, songwriting, originality and overall sound to determine how well the album resonates with one’s personal preferences. Additionally, the impact and influence of the album on the industry and whether it garnered critical acclaim or commercial success. In the end, ranking solo albums is a matter of personal taste and appreciation, and there’s no definitive right or wrong answer. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the diverse talents within a K-pop group, so, it is urged for everyone to read the article with an open mind.
BTS Members’ Solo Albums Ranked
7. The Astraunaut by Jin
Jin released the song on October 28, 2022, right before enlisting in the South Korean military. However, it is not an album but a single released by the artist. The song is a delightful fusion of the past and the present, skillfully blending retro beats with a modern twist. It is reminiscent of old pop songs combined with beautiful and deep lyrics. Moreover, it blends in perfectly with Jin’s voice which makes it even more magnificent. But the only complaint is that the fans only got one song which is clearly not enough! However, we are eagerly waiting for his return and cannot wait for all the new music he is going to deliver.
6. Seven by Jungkook feat. Latto
Seven by Jungkook featuring American rapper Latto, was released as a single on July 14, 2023. The song instantly received a lot of traction from the artist’s fans and partly because of popular K-drama actress, Han So-hee appearing in the music video. It garnered a lot of commercial success and took the top spot on Billboard Hot 100. Moreover, the song debuted at number three on the UK Singles Chart, setting a new record as the highest-debuting single by a solo Korean act in history.
While it may be catchy and easy to listen to, it doesn’t bring anything innovative or distinctive to the table. It feels like a cookie-cutter production that follows the well-trodden path of mainstream pop, lacking the unique flair and creative spark. It’s not that it’s necessarily bad; it’s just disappointingly safe and doesn’t showcase the artist’s full potential. However, it is unfair to judge an artist’s musical journey based on only one song and the wait for a full-length album increases.
Nevertheless, it is still enjoyable and can be listened to anytime, anywhere and it definitely gets points for the incredible music video and production. It is expected that the artist will release more unique and experimental music, displaying his full vocal range and capability.
5. FACE by Jimin
Jimin officially released his solo album on March 24, 2023. With Like Crazy as the title track, the album consists of 4 more songs: Face-off, Interlude: Dive, Alone, Set Me Free Pt.2, and Like Crazy English Version. Expectations from the artist were high following the solo songs Filter and Serendipity from previous BTS albums.
Although the songs from his album were equally amazing, they somehow lacked the dramatic flair that Jimin usually portrays. Moreover, he did not step out of his comfort zone to provide a different sound and followed a predictable formula to maintain a comfortable, familiar sound that the artist has previously explored extensively. The blame partly goes on the lack of tracks, because only 5 songs were surely not enough!
However, the artist has a huge fan following and achieved immense commercial success both domestically and internationally. The title track took the top spot in Billboard Hot 100 making him the first solo K-pop artist to achieve it. Moreover, broke sales records on its opening day, selling over 1 million copies, and in its first week, surpassing 1.45 million sales, making Jimin one the first solo artist in Hanteo Chart history to do so.
4. D-DAY by August D/Suga
The album was released on April 21, 2023, and is the third instalment in a trilogy of works that includes the mixtapes Agust D (2016) and D-2 (2020). The album comprises 10 tracks which include the collaboration from various artists like J-Hope, IU, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Woosung of the Rose. The album has received a lot of critical acclaim as well as commercial success.
The artist is known for making music that is raw with hard-hitting lyrics and he does exactly that this time around too. If you are familiar with the rapper’s previous solo works, you will understand that songs remain very on-brand for him. Although the songs are amazing as usual, there is little to no difference from his previous projects which is disappointing. The artist has set the bar extremely high for himself and he seems to be unable to meet it. Nevertheless, the album is no short of being equally authentic and magnificent as the rest of his works.
3. Layover by V
The debut solo album by the artist was released on September 8, 2023. The album contains a total of six songs, including the singles Slow Dancing, Rainy Days, Love Me Again, Blue, For U and the bonus track Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.). Each song has its own dedicated music video which displays the production value and tells a story.
The album shining example of artistic authenticity, offering a unique and captivating window into the artist’s true persona. Every note, lyric, and melody feels like an unfiltered reflection of their inner world and personal experiences. It is the first time we are getting to see this side of Kim Taehyung and it is pleasantly surprising. What sets this album apart is its commitment to self-expression, presenting a deeply personal narrative that resonates with listeners on an intimate level.
Additionally, the album has outperformed both in the charts and sales. It sold over 1.67 million copies on its opening day, setting a new record for the highest first-day sales by any solo K-pop artist in history, breaking the record set by Jimin previously with FACE. Currently, it is the bestselling solo album in South Korean history.
2. Jack in The Box by J-hope
The debut solo album from the rapper was released on July 15, 2022. It contains 10 tracks, including the lead single, More and the follow-up single, Arson. The album received critical acclaim and performed well on the charts as well. It charted in 17 territories, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Spain, and the United Kingdom. It debuted at number 3 in South Korea, number 11 in Japan, and number 17 on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
The artist truly stepped out of his comfort zone for this album and did something he had never done before. The concept of the album consists of heavy themes like passion, ambition, humanity, insecurity, success, and anxiety about the future. The songs were mainly of old-school hip-hop, including pop, grunge, and R&B.
The artist deserves appreciation for his willingness to venture into uncharted musical territory and create amazing experimental music. It takes immense vision and a fearless attitude to explore new sonic landscapes, challenging both themselves and their listeners to embrace the unfamiliar. Although he chose a new path, at the core the album displayed the artist’s phenomenal rap flow that he is known for.
1. Indigo by RM
The rapper’s debut album was released on December 2, 2022, with a total of 10 tracks. Various artists collaborated on the album including Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo of Epik High, Kim Sa-wol, Paul Blanco, Mahalia, Colde, Youjeen of Cherry Filter, and Park Ji-yoon. The album sold over 800,000 copies and became the highest-charting album by a Korean soloist on the Billboard 200 at the time.
From start to finish, this album serves as a dazzling showcase of the artist’s undeniable potential, with each track crafted to sheer perfection. The album effortlessly weaves together a tapestry of emotions, melodies, and lyrics that resonate on a profound level, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of its listeners. It’s a rare gem in the musical landscape, where every note, every lyric, and every moment is phenomenally well-made.
Kim Namjoon is the perfect example of using his strengths to the highest level and pushing his own limits to create a masterpiece. In simple words, he knows what he is good at and dedicates himself to make it even better.

Layover is my favorite ever ❤️
I feel torn between indigo and layover haha, but with Layover it happens to me that it is an album that you never get tired of listening to, relaxing and different from what you are used to hearing and I think that makes it so unique, it was not something commercial, I admire Kim Taehyung and his excellent taste.
With layover you can enjoy both voice and melody, is a máster piece indeed. Also I enjoy Rm’s and Anderson Paak song.
indigo is my all time favorite
My favorite is LAYOVER, is different from what we have seen from the artist as part of the group. I van feel the honesty and love for his craft. The vibe of the album is calming and refreshing a the same time. The production of this album showcases V’s voice amazingly and what a voice he has! Is beautiful. I’m happy that we get to appreciate what a good singer Taehyung is.
Layover by V is a timeless album. No skips album.
Indigo y Layover son mis preferidos. RM logró una obra maestra y V me sorprendió con un álbum único en el que todas las canciones ocupan un lugar especial
If being unique and setting aside their persona as BTS member to a solo artist, I guess I’ll give it to Layover. They all showed what they are and how exactly the fan expected the album could be but for me the wow shocking factor was V. He truly gave a new identity to us upon releasing his no skips first album.
Layover by V drives me to a different level of music and artistry.
Indigo is truly unmatchable masterpiece ????????
Layover. Unjque
I like Indigo but Layover by V is my favourite. V is full of emotions, whenever he sings with his soothing voice you get immersed in it.
So true
One of my favorite is Face by Jimin.. all songs has a different genre..so its not boring to listen..it has been released since March, but im still listening to it every day.
Face by Jimin is one of a kind..so happy that he gave us an album that we could listen to everyday.
It depends on the mood..if you want to have a lively day..set me free and like crazy are amazing and Face off, alone and slow dancing by V if you just want a calm and soothing night.
Me too, Face by Jimin ????
Layover is my favourite..second would be Jack in the box.
Agreed
Indigo ,Layover,Jack in the box.In that order.
Well it looks like layover is dominant in the comments ❤️ it Layover is definitely my favourite album
For me, Layover is definitely a no-skip album. I also liked most songs from Jack In the Box. The rest seems meh. Seven is a typical bop, hears it on the radio and on Spotify here and there and it’s good but I probably won’t listen to it again once the season’s over. I’d be more curious about Indigo (yet to listen to), imagine I’d enjoy as I liked RM’s songs from SoundCloud.
LAYOVER, all the way! The songs were are so different from what we got from BTS, it felt like a breath of fresh air. His voice is majestic and this album highlights his unique and soulful voice. The album is phenomenon but his live performances of this album was the cherry on top. Perfection. An album I will listen to for years to come. Best album of 2023 for me.
2nd is handsdown JITB. Jhope really set the bar high when he released this…first member to do so. It’s so different to just rap. Amazing!
3rd is most def Indigo. What an album. Again so different from a all rap album. Beautiful lyrics and music…amazing.
Layover, indigo, JITB are my top 3 in that order. I put layover at number one, because the genre is more akin to my personal taste and I like all the songs, it has no skips. Also, I really appreciate the concept of the album and the live certainly adds points (UI palette, tiny desk, band sessions). On the other hand, I love indigo, all the songs are my type. However, I like r&b songs more, that’s why Layover is my number one. JITB is not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, I can recognize that it is a very well done album and I admire hobi’s courage to release such an experimental album, I really think hobi is a great artist, I admire him a lot. His singles are also very good. He is very talented. I think these three members are the most involved in the music. I mean, they are the most genuine in showing who they are and what they want. Yoongi would also come in here, but in this case I agree with you, there is not anything different from his old album, not even the concept. But, the song are really good????
I agree with everything you’ve written. Layover, Jack-in-the-box and Indigo. Love how authentic those albums are. I still enjoy the other members’ but those are my top 3 especially their live sets.
I think For now, it’s LAYOVER and that’s because it’s a timeless masterpiece that people of all time and races can enjoy even in the next years to come. Its going to be an evergreen Album with no skip songs. It feels so personal.
Then JACK IN THE BOX (Sorry RM) but there’s something in the rawness of Jitb that draws you in. The sharp rapsy delivery and storytelling made it my second favourite Album.
Number 3 is Indigo…
I’m eagerly looking forward to jk and Jin’s Album and i know they won’t disappoint
Layover is a much needed album in our daily exhausting life, taehyung is so considerate about fans that he released an album for these who is tired from their daily life work can make themself relax by listening to layover, the whole tracks from the album feels like a warm hug, such an amazing, beautiful & unskipable album. I can listen to it 24/7 without getting bored. I’m soo grateful that taehyung didn’t choose commercial music instead he stayed true to music & artistry, thank you for the ranking, u did it on point, i appreciate it,borahae ????
Definitely FACE by jimin..All the tracks in the album are masterpieces with different genre,Not boring you just cannot skip any track. One of the best solo kpop album. Jimin never disappoints. I’m a gg fan but since I came across Like Crazy song on twitter I added face on my playlist. Never getting tired of listening to jimin’s vocals.
My favourite is face album ????
Jimin created history with his debut solo album FACE by becoming the first K-pop soloist to ever top Billboard’s Hot 100 and Artist 100 charts upon its release. Furthermore, he was the first in BTS’ solo performances to achieve this milestone alongside entering the top 2 of the Billboard 200 chart

listening to Tae’s Layover songs definitely throws my stress & tiresome out from everyday chores, the songs are lullubies to my ears…a big thank u to Tae for making this album a very worthwhile to listen even when about to sleep????????????
Awe love ❤ u from your army ???? kimino I could never get bored
Jimin released another legendary music with Face album..the music videos too are so catchy and trendy.. with his track LikeCrazy, which has grown on me and is now my favorite song from the album followed by face off and smfp2.I love face then indigo is coming second.

Face is the best for me ????????
Face is my favorite album no doubt. most successful debut and its well deserved. now I’m just waiting for jk album to drop. But where is jimins tag?????
Layover
LAYOVER ????
Layover is my comfort zone. Love listening to it
Jimin didn’t step out of his comfort zone??? Jimin is the only one that actually surprised everyone with his album while other members went with the same sound they always had… What a hypocritical article..
Lmaooo How you guys are on fire, it’s really funny to see hahaha, I recommend you write your article and there you only talk about face and discredit others, okay? Let’s hope that in his second album Jimin leaves his comfort zone and dares more, although Face is an excellent album, I’m not a fan of Jimin but I liked his songs, greetings!
It’s not that deep, also if you don’t like their rankings write your own article instead of complaining and sounding like a solo Stan.
? The Layover comments=seem like solo stans. Love V, and tho I love the r&b genre, it seems always the same breathy singing…. Indigo=Lyrical Masterpiece, listen to it almost daily(he wears his honest heart on his sleeve)….Face=loved the diff. styles, sounds amazing (+want more of his r&b lower range)…JITB-when I’m in the mood to dance (or move), love it….D2-love Suga, but would like more experimentng(cuz he’s so good)…Golden-Love JK, but very poppy, tho I like the more r&b SNTY (w/Usher) + “Hate You”‘ lyrics=my fav..Awaiting Jin’s-2025!..Just my opinion-no biggie????
Indigo and Jack in the Box are literally so different than namseok’s previous works. What do you mean the same sound they always had?
My heart definitely belongs to V Layover and RM Indigo. So soothing and fresh. I’m soo grateful that V choose that kide of music. I listen to it 24/7 and never get tired of it. It is heartwarming. We needed albums like that in our daily exhausting life.
I like Jack in The Box by J-hope too.
agreed .. The song arrangement kind a Jimin story in his real life . and Jimin give us wt different genre song with several layer voice .. beside the soothing voice he gave us growl ,rap , husky ,rock , sexy voice .. the song need to listen from 1st track without skip then you will understand what Jimin try to portray. Listen first to Jimin album ‘Face then your comment will be different .. i love too Jk song ‘seven ‘RM ‘wild flower ‘ Jhope – arson n the most i love now by Suga ‘Snooze ‘ this song make tears in my eyes.. and V song .. cant choose .. coz the melody look like same to me to all song that i already heard. wait for Jin new song .. love BTS .. hemmm
Bitter pajama lmaooo
I agree with your comment. Vs songs all sound similar. He could done something more R&B. JKs SEVEN is different and fits his rebellious nature. Jimin’s album is personal yet have different styles of songs, Jhope gave us the rock sounds. Suga is a great storyteller with his hard hitting sounds, RM collaborations were great and matched his sound very well. Jin did his thing with Astronaut, it was perfect for him.
Face is better
Exactly. This woman is so unprofessional. Jimin is literally the only one who came out of his comfort zone
It’s Layover for me. Every song is beautiful. Taehyung’s voice is magical.
I enjoyed getting to know the BTS members through their individual projects. Each one presented different colors. My three favorites, which I can’t decide between, are Indigo by RM, Face by Jimin and Layover by V.
INDIGO is poetic and thought-provoking, FACE is an emotional rollercoaster that resonates within me. Set Me Free pt2 has become my life anthem. LAYOVER invites me into another universe where I can travel ????
In matters of artistry Indigo has that bonus that is Rm’s expertise and beautiful genius mind
We can’t skip any song from indigo…its just great and RM said this album is sum up of his 20s..so I really can relate to this
Jimin’s FACE is the BEST????????????????????????
It’s hard to rank them but they are all so different, but I think I’d just swap JITB with Layover and keep the rest of the order. Indigo and Layover just hit different. Like music you didn’t know you were looking for until you heard it.
Its Layover for me most definitely. Its just my type of music to keep me sane and at peace. It is a noskip album and will be on my playlist for a long time.
Second will be Indigo. Thought provoking as expected of Kim Namjoon.
Third will be JITB where Hoseok really showed the opposite side of his sunshine personality.
Layover is my favorite all the tracks are amazing they’re not a miss all of then are good and I don’t know if it’s me when I listen to music I only pick out my fav songs from each of the boys playlist because some aren’t my taste yet all of tae’s song aren’t a miss they’re all good he did well! ????
Layover.
V’s voice is delicate, warm and very charming. I love how his voice shines in all of his songs.
I think this is an album that will be loved for a long time.
Layover for me. Each and every sons is artistically and esthetically exceptional. MVs are are film festival quality with storytelling at it best where the interpretation is left to the audience. And you can keep listening to the album endlessly which is a testament to Kim Taehyung captivating voice and vocal abilities.
To me album of this century for its classy beautiful uniqueness rendered in one of the most beautiful voices in the world.
Very interesting review and I agree with most of the points. My top 3 is the same, but not in the same order. 1) Layover 2) Jack in The Box 3) Indigo
I was really surprised by Layover. V has a unique voice. I’m listening to his album non stop and this album has no skip at all. Now I’m impatient to know more about the artist and I hope that he will release a new album soon.
Face by Jimin best album for me, all song in this album telling a different story, you can lesson these songs according to your mood
LAYOVER, I love the soulfulness. I think that it’s amazing. 1
Layover speaks to my heart. It’s about what we’ve gone through. Craving for love, thinking that love you had was the best but as you grow you understand we lose some things to get the best. Thank you Taehyung for giving us layover. Can we learn to appreciate Tae’s voice. Love you Taehyung ????????
For me is Layover, it’s so relaxing while working, while cooking, while eating ???? for every moment, Taehyungs’ voice is so soothing. Love this album ????
Layover es mi album favotito es unico para mi es realmente hermoso me gustan los canciones todo lo que ase v es perfecto ????????????????????????
Definitely Layover!!! Kim Taehyung is the most amazing and talented of all BTS members. He has it all. His heavenly voice, his creativity, and affinity for using visuals to add so much more depth and meaning to his songs us unprecedented. The music videos are the best in the industry. His sweet, loving nature in all promotions and interviews is like a beacon of hope for all. A glorious light like the sun, moon and stars combined. He is focusing on a healthy lifestyle and he is literally glowing. To be perfectly honest, I’m currently very, very disappointed in Jeon Jungkook. He’s engaging in so many unhealthy activities humankind can do to themselves. Excessive consumption of strong alcohol to the point of drunkenness, smoking, and more. He looked so tired, sickly and breathless at his recent concert. Not at all the vibrant performer we love to watch from the past.
De acuerdo contigo. LayoVer es poesía y arte. Por otra parte, Jungkook… creo que le está resultando caótico crecer y madurar. Le hacen falta sus hermanos BTS.
My favourite is Indigo, but Layover is the album that surprises the most. I do love all of their new music tho.
Face is my favorite album. Jimin bares his soul in these songs. The lyrics are coming from his lived experiences at a difficult time in his life. He’s such a genius at expressing his emotions through his music and dance and you can feel its authenticity as you watch the MVs for Like Crazy and Set Me Free Pt 2. The other four songs literally links the journey he went through that culminated into this album. This album is an emotional release for him and it must’ve been cathartic for him to write and record the songs. He has so much more to give us and I can’t wait for him to shake off all doubts and embrace his sexy fearless side and give us the Jimin we know and love on stage.
I haven’t ranked their albums until now but if I have to pick a favorite, it’s “D-DAY”! even based on the criteria listed at the beginning of the article, yoongi has been heavily involved in the making of the album & all its tracks so much.
The writer mentions the sounds of the song as similar to his previous mixtape and lists that as a con & that’s where we disagree. if the writer doesn’t know, D- Day is the last of the Agust D trilogy album. Haegeum is the sequel to Daechwita & Amygdala is the origin story. So naturally, the vibe & telling is similar to his previous albums & so all the more difficult to produce. With his productions as SUGA we know he can do different sounds & genre, so this was his intention and it’s weird to see an artist’s trilogy albums critiqued for bearing similarities.
Also, he became the first rapper to sell a million copies of his album on release day & his album hit highest peaks for a k-soloist on most country charts.
Putting “Seven” above “The Astronaut” is criminal ngl ???? Not a solo stan whatsoever but Jin’s vocals/the meaningfulness of the song outweigh the lyrics of “Seven” by a mile.
I completely agree.
De acuerdo!!!!!
I won’t rank Layover OR Seven in this because JK/Tae didn’t actually write any of their music. Interpreting someone else’s words is completely different from singing your own.
Rank:
5th Astronaut [because Jin only gave us this 1 exceptional song ???? ????]
4th Indigo – It had been critically received but much of it was collaborative. I appreciate the members who went it alone.
3rd: DDay- It’s gorgeous but was very much in his wheelhouse.
2nd Face – Jimin went outside his comfort zone and the overall concept felt cohesive.
1st JITB – JHope gave us a truly unexpected sound and look. He set the tone for Ch2.
I agree!
I completely agree.
Definitely LAYOVER. A truly solo album with no collab or feat. We are serenaded by his voice as the main instrument. He even made it hard for me to choose a favourite song from this album because everytime I listen to one of the songs I tell myself this is my fav and when I listen to another it becomes my fav too. Truly a no skip album because all the songs are so good with his voice being the main highlight. They real y took time to make the songs flow from one to another.
hahah this comment is funny and ironic, calling LAYOVER a truly solo album just coz it’s w/o collab or feat BUT ignoring that he had ZERO contribution in the song writing, no credits no directing no nothing for Tae, its even funny that he revealed that JK help direct some of his vocals… U could say u prefer and love Tae’s song choices but to call it A TRULY SOLO ALBUM in comparison to the other members who poured all their thoughts and emotions and experiences in the melodies and/or lyrics is way way wrong man. You said it urself man ‘THEY really took time to MAKE the songs…’ YES, THEY whoever they are and NOT TAE HIMSELF… in fact that is why I am a bit disappointed with Tae bec he already shared to us some of his compositions that for me already sounded so good and promising, unfinished as they are at that time he revealed them. But of course who am I to dictate or judge Tae in his decision to NOT write or produce his solo debut album.
Depends which Solo is posting.
Tae didn’t even write his songs so all the commentary about it being deeply personal doesn’t even make sense? It’s a nice album but someone else wrote and handed him the songs. Let’s do our research.
Thats actually the main point, Tae did not wrote the lyrics but He gave justice to the song. He felt the lyrics as if it was Him when singing. And by listening to His soulful voice I can also feel the lyrics. For me, you can never get bored by listening to it. I love the album and the singer and I also love all of them
yeah I agree. this automatically puts his album below JitB or Indigo. Tae interprets these songs beautifully, but an album which was done in half a year, because others were writing/producing the songs cannot compete with a song like Wildflower which is the result of 4 years of work, which is truly personal, almost painfully so.
Which doesn’t take away from Tae’s hard work, but let’s me question the “personal” label.
I can’t decide between indigo and jack in the box. They both are so good. And then jhopes performance at lollapalooza and rms performance at rolling hill in Seoul, both were so incredible. I never thought any of their solo albums would do as well as bts but indigo and Jack in the box are just so good. And D Day is up there too. I got to see him perform in Chicago and it was amazing. ????????????????????????????
I agree with everything you’ve written. Layover, Jack-in-the-box and Indigo. Love how authentic those albums are. I still enjoy the other members’ but those are my top 3 especially their live sets.
Even if the songs weren’t written by V and JK it doesn’t matter. It’s their connection to it:, emotions, concept etc that gives each song life. Just enjoy!
The astronaut is my favorite among their solo songs. It is just too bad Jin was not able to come up with a full album. But for the albums I love Indigo, D-day and layover
INDIGO BEST ALBUM OF ALL THE TIME! NO ONE CAN TOUCH THE QUEEN
Indigo is a perfect masterpiece and one of the best kpop album to ever exist. If not for western industry being xenophobic this album has potentail to win grammys. A perfect album with different genres to look into rap, vocals, upbeat, slowed, etc. Also RM is known for his beautiful lyrics so there’s no need to tell how great the lyricism is already in the album. Apart from that I eenjoyed Jack in the book and Like crazy and astronaut is my alarm tone it’s so pleasant.
Indigo, layover and jitb my order of choice quite disappointed with 7 and d-day .
Indigo is a masterpiece!✨????
Indigo,, xixixixixixi xixixixixixi
Completely disagree. You seem so unprofessional. First go listen to Face then come. All songs of face are different and jimin literally came out of his comfort zone. His album were both critically and commercially successful. The ranking is biased and lack proffessionalism
I don’t get it, Suga literally sound the same like his previous album, in all song of dday, jhope, rm, v all sounded the same, how come u are saying they are different?? The ranking is completely biased
Face is a masterpiece. I assume this unprofessional writer have not even listen to face. Artistic flare?? All of his songs in face is art. Like who in kpop ever released songs like face off, alone or set me free pt2
Face is my all time favourite album by any bts member. It’s tells a story in the serial of song. U sounds so ignorant talking abt Face.
The way she didn’t tag jimin tells it all. Anyway Face is a masterpiece. Go listen first before wruting unprofessional fake article
Don’t agree with what you said about face. Do research before writing these biased article
Face is a masterpiece and u sound dumb abt what u said about face
You are completely wrong about Face
Face is the best album so far. So original, creative and artistic like no one in kpop ever released anything like this. Do ur research before writing these false bs
Jimin is literally the only one who came out of his comfort zone and shows his own artistry. Also so jm should not sound like jm to impress???)like I don’t get it, is a dumb person wrote it or what??
U are 100% wrong about jimin.Face is a masterpiece, Face off is the best solo song till now by any bts members
Do a better job and stop being biased. Face literally got critically acclaimed immensely, rolling stone consequence of sound ranked it one of the best this year. U sound so disrespectful towards jimin
Face me gustó, pero es el menos rankeado por la crítica de todos los miembros (metacritic). Si vas a ser grosero sobre el trabajo del escritor primero revisas tus fuentes.
Sorry I don’t understand?? Face did better than indigo in metacritic
Indigo ????????
Indigo no.1 a masterpiece. ????????????????
Layover then JITB
Be objective not subjective writing this unprofessional article! Face is a masterpiece and what u said about face is 100% wrong. Jimin is the only one who came out his comfort zone and showed his artistic flare.
1. Face
2.Jitb
3.Indigo
Jimin FACE of course
The album is very artsy, if you listen to all the songs the type of music is completely different.
You are so unprofessional. It’s so obvious u have not listen to face. Jimin literally the only one who came out of his comfort zone and his album is so diverse. All songs are unique and different and it tells a story.
I don’t agree with you. RM, V, Suga, Jhope all stayed in their comfort zone. Only jimin did something different.Be professional please. Incompetent people like you should not allow to do this kind of ranking
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA GOOD JOKE LMAO DIFFERENT?? HE ONLY MADE KPOP! HAHAHAHHAHA RM IS THE ONLY ONE WHO MADE A GOOD ALBUM
INDIGO=Lyrical Masterpiece w/diff. styles/genres (+great collabs)! JITB=Hobi tried diff. rock sounds..FACE=Amazing, w/diff. styles (do want more lower range)..Tho I love all members>nothing different D2-Same hard (but good) rap, Golden-very pop (except SNTY r&b w/Usher)-didn’t write the songs, LAYOVER-Love r&b, but same breathy singing (songs sound similar)-didn’t write the songs & Jin-Astonaut was good, awaiting his album-2024 or 2025????
Face is better
Face then dday jitb. U have not listen to face I am sure
Different sound??? Like what u want jimin to sound like??? U sound like a jimin anti. All of his songs literally sound different. He is the only one who came out of his comfort zone May be listen to him before talking
Ur take on jimin is wrong and so unprofessional. Do research before talking like ignorant
The points u mentioned u used to rank album, according to all ur point then it would be Face at top. Stop being jealous and writing wrong info
I can’t rate Layover and Seven higher than the others when the artist has no writing credits.
Indigo
JITB
Face
Astronaut
D-Day
Your FACE critique is a little eh. If you actually read the lyrics Jimin really opened himself up and was extremely vulnerable. I don’t know how you can say he didn’t step out of the box.
Indigo and JITB are higher because more songs and better production. But this is their 3rd and 2nd album respectively so that is to be expected.
This person is a rap line biased for sure. U know nothing about Face. Unprofessional, jealous hater
She is incompetent. Have not even listen to face for sure, cz all other reviews says how jimin came out of his style.
First jimin went throgh sabotage by whole music industry, now this media play. Hope bighit sue u for ur fake unprofessionalism take on face. Stop discrediting jimin.
Indigo is no. 1 for me too and I like all other solos as well
Indigo’s all song is literally collab. It’s not about rm solely too. I don’t get the reviews, looks like written by some biased army
your comments make no sense, because there is an inherent difference between Namjoon’s choice of collaborators (who were chosen by RM because of who they are/their own artistic biographies etc)
So it is about RM, because he wrote the lyrics and chose the musicians whose voice he wanted to carry a message and a collaboration like JK and Latto.
You have lostt your credibility with your “Face” critique. U are just random jimin hater I guess
I love Face, but it’s a bit short for me to tell a whole story. I don’t agree with “Jimin staying in his comfort zone”, because Set Me Free part 2 is a great and unusual masterpiece and Like Crazy is endlessly “replayable”
While I really like LayoVer, it is exactly what i expected of him, which isn’t bad at all, but shows his distinct taste and preference. the mvs and the creative direction is amazing and fits together beautifully. I can’t put LayoVer on 1, because V was neither involved in the lyric writing or the production.
I love a couple of songs of D-Day intensely, but I don’t listen to it from start to finish as often as to the other albums. But seeing these songs performed live, really changed my perception of some of them.
JitB was lights out great, creative vision and execution was insanely good. Hobi really grew so much and pushed his artistic space to be almost limitless.
Indigo to me is a masterpiece from start to finish. It is not as coherent in genre like LayoVer or JitB, but the “exhibition-like” character is perfect for the story Namjoon wants to weave.
The collaborations are specifically chosen and are part of his vision.
Listening to this album, it’s insane to recall his musical and artistic journey, starting from RM, mono to indigo. I read some comments that said Namjoon stayed in his comfort zone which I don’t understand. How can you be stuck in zone with an album with 10 genres? Wildflower’s confessional honesty just gets me every time. You can feel that he worked on that song for 4 years.
I won’t comment on JK’s and Jin’s songs, because the first one is about to drop his album and i am very excited (i hope it’s not full of “sevens”, which is catchy, but below his abilities) and Jin didn’t have enough time. Let’s just say, TA can make me cry in no time.
You are illogically hateful towards jimin and face. Grow up, I know you are an army. Face is a masterpiece and all of your criticism is just lies cz jimin was never in his comfort zone and he definitely did not follow the formula
Face is the best. And what u said about Face is lie and so disrespectful towards the artist. Be professional or left the job
yasss..finally someone speaks on indigo, all it’s tracks are different and all have different resonating meanings!! same w JITB and DDAY, but it’s just the way joon raps throughout the album w a similarish flow but no one realizes cause of the constant change of production-indigo the QUEEN????
I truly love Indigo I didn’t know an album could put together so many different genres and work so effortlessly I love the way how namjoon is always showing is something different. Not just focusing on rap only but other styles like folk plus introducing us to some incredible new artist as well. I loved jitb too jhope showed a new style different from what we expected from him I like that they both challenged themselves than giving us what we expected
Indigo is a masterpiece of different genres woven together in a beautiful cohesive package. And imagine getting Eryka Badu to feature, it shows his talents and strength!
Indigo is a masterpiece and original! Will always love it…
Indigo is my favorite, is a masterpiece, RM is a amazing Artist. He deserves more recognition, his work is beautiful and exquisite.
Indigo will always be my favorite. I amazed with how Namjoon arrange the track and put yun as the first track on the album, opening of the album. It’s amazing. And he ends the album with No.2 (no looking back no) so we should moving forward to his another discography before go back to listen indigo on the next time
Overall, this represents me to choose which is my favorite from the members’ albums, thank you????✌????
JITB is very cool. JHOPE’s second album is completely different from his first album, Hope World. We really see another side of Hobi.
But, Indigo is really very close to my heart. Same with mono.
My personal opinion:
1. JITB – Big, big surprise for me. Hobi’s hard work reflects in his album. He did an amazing job.
2. DDay/Indigo – Majorly liked it. Also both Namjoon and Yoongi delivered what you expect from them.
3. Layover – I enjoyed it. It’s still recent and I listen to it everyday. Tae’s voice is wonderful and the album is so on brand. Still I am a bit disappointed he didn’t go with what he teased before, because I actually liked some of them more but it’s his decision.
4. Face – I wish I could rank it higher. But Like Crazy and Alone are probably the only songs that struck with me and I still listen to it. Rest not so much.
I would like to give Jin’s The Astronaut the same rank. Even though it’s just one song, I loved it a lot.
Note: Disclaimer I am not a JK anti and I adore him a lot. But all his recent releases are very disappointing to me. I wouldn’t rank it because they felt very very generic to me. Others might enjoy the type of music he is putting out but it’s a pass for me. I’ll look forward to his album though. Hopefully it will change my mind.
For me…Face from Jimin the best individual album from Bts member
>>Why isn’t Jimin tagged?? Only RM’s INDIGO, JHope’s JITB + Jimin’s FACE had tried diff. styles + all 3 sound amazing!….As exected, JK’s GOLDEN’s very poppy (except r&b vers. w/Usher)–didn’t write any lyrics….As expected, V’s LAYOVER has r&b feel, very hollow, breathy (+all sound similar)–didn’t write any lyrics…Suga’s D2, As expected,, hard (but good) raps, but nothing new.. Awaiting Jin’s 2024 r 2025!????
