One Piece Ending Explained

The last episode showcased the origin story of Nami and where she comes from. After Arlong murdered her mother and raided the entire village, she made a promise to buy back the land by any means possible. She started to steal items from pirates and basically anyone she met so that she could save up to 100 million and buy her village back from Arlong. However, Arlong had different intentions all along and sent the officials to raid Nami so that she could not free the village.

Exhausted by Arlong’s exploits, she turns to Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew for help, and they instantly agree to do so. While Zoro, Sanji and Usopp fight Arlong’s army, Luffy alone goes to defeat Arlong.
